Re: Batch Replace Images
I have a similar issue. Images without callouts are fine, with callouts are not. The image replacements are done without props files and should slide under the combined image and props file when the project is exported - at least that is how I understand it. My first batch replacement went fine, but...

PDF minitoc
Just a 'heads-up' to let you know this can be happening in PDF targets. Minitoc entries in PDF can go to the wrong location when clicked, even though the bookmark links on the lefthand side of the PDF go to the intended location. Using Level2Headings (or 3, probably 4 but I haven't got those) the he...

Duplicate Bookmarks
Hi everyone, I've been looking for a way to find duplicate bookmarks as I have a parent and child projects and want to make sure of consistency across all of them. The Flare Project Analyzer "Used Bookmarks" does not help as it lists wherever bookmarks are used (x-refs, area) but not so mu...

Re: Flare's Analysis
No answer, but same issue, Also, the Markup suggestions seem to have a life of their own. If I jump to a topic in which Flare reports multiple spaces and I delete them manually (leaving the entries that I also use fairly extensively) all seems ok, but the same topic comes up again and again in the...

Expand and Collapse Dropdowns in CHM output
Sharing my findings / solution :) My topics can be reasonably lengthy and contain dropdowns so users don't have to see what they do not need to see until they actively choose to do so. However: Finding content in the dropdowns by using Ctrl-F doesn't work when they are collapsed - as is their defaul...

Re: Image map links not always working in PDF
Additionally I found that: :? Image maps are easily confused for PDFs if bookmarks with the same name but in different topics are used! :!: Additional to the real Chapter breaks in a child project, Chapter breaks need to be applied to topics from a parent project that contain image maps, otherwise t...

Re: Image map links not always working in PDF
Hi Psider - Maybe so, but setting chapter breaks on all topics with an image map is such a blanket solution that I don't really want to do this. I might not have a choice though. One remark of Flare: "If the {chapnum} autonumber format is not being used, this will not affect the output." I...

Image map links not always working in PDF
I have images to which I've applied an image map - which works beautifully in my CHM targets. It also works for most of my PDF targets (albeit without a screen tip) However: a few PDF targets get the links confused with links to a completely different image in a different topic (that is imported int...

Re: Cross reference to imported topic
@Dave Aha!! That is exactly what I'm doing! I am referring to a heading. Thank you so much - I have made bookmarks now, tried it again and - thank heavens - no more linked document dialogue windows. I find it puzzling though that I've not come across this before, as I think I constantly refer to hea...

Cross reference to imported topic
Has anyone else come across this? I have 6 projects of which 1 is the master (Shared) that is imported into each of the others. I created a new topic in the Shared project, added headings and imported it into one of the child projects. In the child project I then created cross references to this imp...

Re: Auto Suggestion for variables doesn't work
Hi Pamela, I have exactky the same. autosuggest has stopped working for variables. I did notice - before it stopped - that it showed 2 instances of each variable. You might well have sorted it by now, but hey: I have tried: 1) turning the auto suggest off and back on in File / Options / Autosuggesti...

Re: Paragraph class misbehaving
@Marjorie That was a good thought, but unfortunately didn't work - the problem is that I want a span.italic in the text above the note. If I don't have that, there is no problem with the p.note appearing in the layer under the float.left image. I've not experimented with formatting the span.italic w...

Paragraph class misbehaving
I have a paragraph style p.note which has a background colour. I regularly apply this next to an image that has the FloatLeft property, as I like the visual effect of the background coming out from the back of the image. (see image) However: in Flare 12 this p.note overlays the image in certain case...

Re: paragraphs in list items
Hi Dave That is a good suggestion - thanks. It stems from the days when I did not know how Flare worked and I had set my body font size to 1em, finding that it was too big for what I wanted, so I set my <p> size to 0.9em. Live and learn - I spent some time setting <body> to an actual size: Arial 11p...

paragraphs in list items
Sharing..... If, like me, you have a <p> style with a fontsize that is a different size than the regular - like 0.9em and you want to apply that paragraph within a list item, the list items become 0.9 of 0.9 in size as there is inheritance at work! To solve it I have created a p.FollowLi class and a...

Re: Table rows and conditions
@Wil
Thanks for your reply.
It was more about selecting multiple rows at once which are not adjacent. As can be done in Word and Excel by using the Ctrl key, but I guess that is not possible in Flare.

Re: Table rows and conditions
What I ended up doing is make one table with all the common entries, then several tables underneath with specific entries and conditioned those.

Table rows and conditions
Can I select multiple table rows and apply a condition to them? It looks as if I have to select one row, apply condition, select the next, apply condition etc. I have a growing table that I want to use in several projects and let the conditioning take care of what is shown in each project. Does anyo...

Unused items
Running a report from the report generator in project organiser I find an image file reported as 'unused' but it is definitely in the project, three times even..... It's a good job I treble checked!! and did not delete it. When I look at the link viewer Flare says no incoming or outgoing links. When...

Float left and editing text
I was running into trouble with editing text paragraphs next to images that were floated left. All of a sudden I could not access the text direcly - the cursor would just NOT appear in it - and would have to go into the Text Editor to adjust text, or reset the Image Style, do my adjustments and set ...

Re: How do I create a back-to-top button with Flare css?
Hi Dave, Thanks! That really set me on the right path! And for anyone else who might want to try this: In the MasterWebPage that I use for creating chm output: 1) Made a paragraph between the bodyproxy and the footer of the page and entered the following statement in Text editor mode: <a href= "...
