Conditions created; how to view topics with conditions?
20190807_172254.jpg I use conditions for things like: My Notes, ToDo Priority 1, ToDo Priority 2, that sort of thing. They are paragraphs within a topic that I use for my own notes. They are set to not publish in my target. The thing is that now I want to view all topics with any of those condition...

how to Save settings before re-installing
Something got corrupt in Capture and I have to uninstall/re-install, but I would like to preserve as many of my custom settings as possible (profiles, custom boxes, whatever). The thing is I can't load Capture to find out where these settings might be saved. I'm running windows 10. Can anyone tell m...

Re: Shouldn't this basic javascript work in a topic?
jjw, thank you for the reply. Would this be accurate? When it is a function, then I use the Insert Script, but when it is just the button, like in your first example, I just put it in the text editor within a paragraph. Also, I was able to get your first example going fine, but I wasn't able to get t...

Shouldn't this basic javascript work in a topic?
Hey there, Just learning Javascript (I mean, we're talking 'hello world' level). The basic script works fine when I create my own html file so I know it works, but when I put it in a Flare topic (both manually and using "Insert Script") and build, the resulting page doesn't display the &qu...

Re: File List - use filter as search?
I can't help with the whole filtering thing, but sometimes those lists are as simple to clean up as selecting an item and pressing the delete key. (e.g. the To list in an Outlook email.) Psider, thanks for trying... but yeah, I checked for that and it didn't work. I thought maybe closing/re-startin...

File List - use filter as search?
View > File List 1 - I am working on a specific section and would like to isolate it from the rest of my project in File List, so that I can see which topics have been assigned which status conditions (content complete, formatting complete, among others). I know I can sort by Status but that display...

MyNotes condition tag in snippet not displayed in topic
I use a MyNote condition tag for my own personal comments on a topic (what is left to do, who to contact about what, etc.) The condition is excluded from publishing online (Targets > Online Output > HTML5 Top Nav > Conditional Text > "Exclude" is checked.) I don't see it when I preview or ...

Re: Varying Snippet conditions within same topic
Thank you Dave. I will submit a feature request on this one. I don't know if it is just me, but, I think such setting the condition at the instance level will be quite helpful in single-sourcing content. I also submitted this feature request a few months ago. I can't count the number of times I've ...

filter table content - toggler as 'show filter/show all'?
What I want to do: I want to display a table with items sorted alphabetically, and I want the user to click on filter names that would display only the relevant items in the table. I have 4 or 5 filters that I want displayed. I have done this successfully before by using snippet conditions (see belo...

Re: Relationship Proxies aren't displaying anything
And now, for some reason, it is working for the most part.
Not consistently, but I was able to get the relationship table links to work on some of those topics where it didn't work before. Not all of them, but some.
I think I'll take a look on Monday with fresh eyes.

Relationship Proxies aren't displaying anything
Newbie here, running Flare v11. I've been giving relationship tables a whirl and I've been at it for 6 hours now trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've read the help file, I've read this board, I've started over and even rebuilt a topic from scratch just in case. All of that and the result ...

Re: Applying conditions to snippet or topic via html block
Yes, applying conditions to the html tag is the same as setting them in the properties. To see the properties: right-click and select Topic Properties, or press ctrl+shift+p. Thanks yet again Dave. I truly do appreciate the time you take to answer my questions. I would like you to know that I do sp...

Applying conditions to snippet or topic via html block
Newbie question. When I right-click on the html structure bar in a snippet or a topic, I see that Conditions is an option. Is applying conditions here the exact same thing as applying the conditions via the snippet or topic properties? What I did notice is that clicking on the html bar for a topic a...

Re: applying the homestyle css to the homepage
* If it's ok to use your stylesheets together, and you want to use them for all topics, then you could use a master stylesheet. Then at the top of that stylesheet use an @import statement to include other stylesheets; e.g. @import url('another.css'); I use this second approach for our projects, but...

Re: Today's feature request: snippet variables. Anyone else
Snippet conditions aren't suitable for lots of reasons. [...] 1. You apply snippet conditions at the topic level (the wrong implementation, I think) not at the point where the snippet is placed in a topic (the correct implementation, I'd say), so I could only have one distinct value for xxx in a to...

Re: Displaying same topic in 2 places with different conditi
The only thing that may restrict your plans is the need to set the snippet condition at a topic level. So should you find that you need both variants of the snippet in the same topic, you would be stuck, as you won't be able to do that. Darn. I was looking for a way to do just that. I was so proud ...

Re: applying the homestyle css to the homepage
Make sure the master stylesheet is set to Default (which means 'none') on the target(s) and project properties. Otherwise, using a master stylesheet will effectively remove all stylesheet links in the output topics, and replace them with only the master stylesheet. Ah, that's it. Thanks Dave. I had...

applying the homestyle css to the homepage
I've given up trying to figure this out myself. I've spent hours and hours trying all variations and I can't seem to get my Mainstyles.css to apply to my entire html5 output except for the home page, where I want to apply the StylesForHomepage.css. There are so many places to apply various styleshee...

Re: Optimizing Search in HTML outputs
In HTML5 outputs, a search doesn't bring (scroll) you to the position in the topic. Thanks Dave. That's a shame. I guess I will go ahead with plan B then and create most of my topics as snippets so that they can appear under their own h1 or h2 heading in a topic and then again as a drop-down on the...

Re: Optimizing Search in HTML outputs
Regarding the drop down sections, you could just set it up as a toggler - so the h2 heading is the toggler hotspot for the section underneath. Dave, I fooled around with togglers for the first time last week to do precisely that. It seems to work ok but it is more complicated and time consuming to ...

Hi Daniel, Thank you so much for yesterday's webinar. I'm in the middle of re-thinking my entire project (first time working in Flare) and everything you said was very useful. In my re-organization I have been thinking of having one longer topic page with drop-downs for what used to be smaller proce...
