For info, this issue has been submitted as a bug and should be fixed in a future update to Flare.

Re: How to ignore accentuated characters in HTML5 Madcap sea
Hi Feebeegeebee and many thanks for your response, I do use synonyms for other things and yes it works fine but it is not a solution to the problem for the following reasons: When using synonyms the search does not Hhighlight the searched string in the result page, and this is a problem if you have ...

How to ignore accentuated characters in HTML5 Madcap search
Hi everybody, I am trying to find a way to ignore accents in the Madcap search. For example, if you search for "cliche", or "fiance" or "deja-vu" it will NOT find pages containing "cliché", "fiancé" or "déjà-vu". Does anybody know how to te...

Re: Lingo projects and source control
Hi, I am not in the exact same configuration as you are but maybe it'll help a bit if I describe the configuration we got working with TFS. We use to work with TFS but we had only our flare original source projects under TFS source control. For Lingo, we didn't use TFS for the lingo projects but onl...

Re: A way to translate individual files?
Hi T90fpe ! I'm not sure I understand your problem correctly but if you want to propagate a TM just on one file, you open this file in the translation editor and click on the icon which says "propagate translation memory across the whole file". This icon is in the translation editor, third...

Best way to use glossaries in HTML 5 outputs
Hello all, I'm trying to work out the best way to use glossaries in a MC project with TopNav output (and occasionally PDF outputs). We use internal glossaries to unify terms and translations for our software (3 glossaries: actions, definitions, and UI elements). These glossaries are xl files and are...

Re: Linked projects or multiple targets?
Thanks for your reply eclecticbanana! I think your perfectly right, going for a big single project is definitely the way to go. I found Dave Lee's contribution to this post very enlightening and it made me realize that it is a golden rule to put shared content in a single project as much as possible...

Re: Glossary entry printed from Glossary Proxy missing topic
Hi dtmenges, Did you have any luck with outputting in pdf glossary terms which are linked to topics? We're in the process of deciding whether to go for text or linked topic and we are reaching the conclusion that this bug (feature?) is killing completely the benefits of HTML content offered by topic...

Re: Linked projects or multiple targets?
Hello all, I'm digging out this old thread because my company is currently trying to find a solution to implement search feature across many flare projects. Of course, we are using topnav html5 which means that all server based and project merging features. Also, web crawlers are not allowed on our ...

Re: Build Failed: The "too long" error
Hourray ! I found the solution for my problem : MadCap was using a veeeeeeery long path to compile its build logs..
I went to file/options in Flare and set a short path in the build section (C:\0_MC\Logs) and the problem went away for ever !!! what a relief !
Hope this helps people in the future

Re: Build Failed: The "too long" error
Hello all, I know this thread is an old one and that the "too long error" has been discussed for years, but I keep getting this error and it's driving me really crazy! Here is a short description of my project: it's a project that outputs more than 50 different targets Outputs are only Pdf...

Best way to import translation into lingo : XLSX or XML?
Hello everyone, I'm using Lingo to translate flare documentation and so far it's working fine, apart from a few bugs. We then decided to use Lingo to also translate our software user interface and this is where it got less fine! Here is what I'm trying to do: I'm getting from our software developmen...

Re: Using Lingo with global project linking - Best practice
Thank you ChoccieMuffin, what you describe is actually what I implemented a few weeks ago and it works. After thinking all this over, I actually reached the same conclusion as you that the global project HAD to be translated. The workflow I ended up using is the following : Workflow C: 1. I translat...

Re: Using Lingo with global project linking - Best practice
Hi and bonne année everyone,
Am I the only one translating Flare projects with global project linking?
If you have any idea on this subject, I am still interested, otherwise I guess I'll have to make a decision with no help from my friends.

Using Lingo with global project linking - Best practice
Bonjour everyone, I am currently looking at translating several of our Flare (V11) projects and I tried out a few things with Lingo (V9). Since my projects are all based on global project linking, I am trying to decide what the best workflow is to get the best of single sourcing while keeping the tr...

Re: Topic Toolbar Proxy in HTML5 Top Nav not showing Prev &
I agree 101% with you sdcinvan, "Next topic" and ""Previous topic" would be really useful in HTML5 Top Nav output and I just cannot understand why it's not supported in Flare. If anybody finds a way to include a "next topic" link at the end of a topic (apart from t...

Re: Missing hyphens in style names when importing from word
I can't help you with the issue (sorry). But I can help with your work-around (hopefully, someone will have a solution and you can ignore this). I use the following script to replace unicode syntax and I'm sure this will work for your style tags. Woaaa, that certainly is one cool time saving vbs fi...

Missing hyphens in style names when importing from word
Hi all, When I import word documents into Flare 11, if a style name contains a hyphen (dash, minus sign, "-") symbol, it will disappear from the style name in the generated html style. This is what I do : - I have a model document with predefined styles for writers who don't want to use co...
