Re: Suggestions for content hosting

Thank you for your reply. Could you give me a bit more information about how you use Amazon S3 bucket? Do you use another tool to organize files, upload, etc in there? TIA!

Files linked from parent project are being unlinked?

Hi everyone, I am working on Flare, multiple projects. We are starting to get move involved in content re-use, so I am experimenting with the idea of having a parent (master) project, and then other projects that link to specific topic files, in the parent project, that we re-use. Our parent project...

Where can I find my conflicts

Hi everyone,

I'm using Flare with GIT; and I am being told that I have a conflict when I try to push/pull files. However, I have no idea what that conflict is (which file) - where can I see my conflicts, to resolve them?

TIA,
Adriana

Re: Unable to add content when using Git source control

Thanks @Nita - you are right, it was an empty folder issue.

Do you have any experience with deleting folders? And why GIT may or may not actually delete them?

Thanks

Re: Unable to add content when using Git source control

Ok - as an update. GIT can't commit empty folders, so we added a single topic to each folder, and now they have committed. But I have also deleted some sample folders that came with the project we started, and my colleague is still seeing the folders I deleted...

Unable to add content when using Git source control

I have checked out my Flare project, added a bunch of folders, committed, and pushed. We are using GIT. However, when my colleague pulls the project, they do not see my new folders. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? If anyone has an tips or suggestions, I'd be grateful.

Hi everyone, We are working on a Flare project, bound to GIT. I have created a topic template file and added it and pushed/committed to GIT. Re: Having trouble binding to GIT source control

For anyone else who may have gotten stuck... For some reason we couldn't get around the certificate authentication. So my Sys Admin downloaded a Flare trial, created a sample project, and loaded it to the repository himself. I was then able to import his project into Flare, which bypassed the certif...

Re: Having trouble binding to GIT source control

A bit more detail; I think I am getting stuck at the certificate stage. For some reason, I seem unable to authenticate my public and private keys; because I am unable to find a way to get my username and password for GIT into Flare, anywhere. I tried this - https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopi...

Re: How can I change my Git credentials?

This did not work for me - when I went through all the steps, and then opened Flare and the project I had created, and tried to push, I was not asked for my credentials; instead I was stopped at the Certificate Specification page, and I was still unable to authenticate. Did anyone else run into this...

Having trouble binding to GIT source control

Hi everyone,

Starting a brand new Flare project, and I want to bind it to GIT. My Sys admin has provided a key, and set up our repo, but I'm sure where to put my GIT password inside Flare - so I seem unable, so far, to access the repo and push files? I am hoping someone can help me!

TIA,
Adriana

Hi everyone, I'm creating a great little Flare project, and the primary output is HTML Help (I need a .chm file). It builds no problem, no errors or warnings, but when I say 'view output' the page is blank. It says: This page can’t be displayed Make sure the web address //ieframe.dll/dnserrordiago...

HHC3000 Warning when publishing HtmlWebhelp

Hi everyone, I'm trying to publish a brand new project (very simple - 1 topic). When I publish as an HtmlWebhelp (I need a .chm file) I get warnings: HHC3000: Invalid syntax: A <PARAM> tag appears outside of an <OBJECT> tag. All I have is a single topic with about 3 sentences of text (I'm just testi...

I did read the link you sent, thank you. And my apologies, I'm not trying to be difficult but I'm not understanding. Is there an actual file generated with an extension of .chm? Re: Creating/saving a .chm file

Hi Nita, thanks for the link and for getting back to me so fast! Sorry - so this probably sounds really dumb. So I understand that the official name is Microsoft HTML Help; but is there an actual file type that Flare outputs with a .chm extension? Or when I generate or save a help file as online hel...
