Importing a glossary from word

Hi, We have inherited a glossary from another department that we want to import into Flare without having to manually enter each new term using the Glossary Editor. I did a bit of digging and it looks like you can import glossaries (from word or excel) into Flare with a bit of messing around. https:...

Re: Removing glossary term defs from search result abstract

Hi Nita,
Thanks for getting back, but the problem we're having isn't about displaying the glossary term at the top of the search results screen, it's that Flare adds the glossary definition in the middle of the search result abstract making the abstract unreadable.

Thanks,
Karen

Removing glossary term defs from search result abstract

Hi, For the moment for each topic we are using the automatically created search result abstracts. However, a lot of these descriptions contain glossary terms and Flare is adding the full glossary definition in the middle of the descriptions. For example, in the attached screen shot in the Getting St...

Top nav menus

Hi We are in the process of creating a top nav output for a large documentation set. At the moment I am trying to structure the TOC so that I have at most five menus across the top with max 10 options. One of the menus is going to be a series of steps to walk through a typical scenario, for example,...

Subversion and MP4s

Hi,
We use Subversion for source control and we're having issues when using mp4s in our projects. Sporadically, I am getting the attached error when I try to build a project in Flare. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Is subversion not able to handle mp4s?

Thanks,
Karen

Re: Mp4s displaying in IE

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. We don't have a fade in effect on our first frame. I set the Image Properties>Animation Effects>In Effect property to no effect instead of default but that hasn't changed anything. Any other ideas of what might be causing this and how I could get the first frame to...

Mp4s displaying in IE

Hi, When I open a topic in IE that contains an mp4, the mp4 displays as a black box before I move my icon over it(see attached file) . When I move my icon over it, the control panel displays, and once I click Play the movie displays. What I would like to happen is that the mp4 displays the first fra...

Re: Problems displaying imported Frame list items and menu p

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Unfortunately that table style isn't in our style sheet so we can't edit it there.

Problems displaying imported Frame list items and menu proxy

Hi, We are in the process of importing our Frame content to Flare 11 and we are having problems with how our bulleted and numbered lists display when there is a menu proxy (mini TOC) on the right side of the page (see attached screenshot). The Flare import process does not support mapping numbered l...

Hi, I'm using IE11. Unfortunately this is the browser that my company supports. Is there no solution to this error?

Thanks,

Problem generating HTML 5 content for IE

Hi, I am trying to generate HTML 5 format mimic movies to add to our doc set. They display fine in Chrome and Firefox but not in IE. I have tried adding the ffmpeg.exe encoder to the HTML5 Options but I am still getting an [object Event] error when I try to view the movie in IE. Does anyone have an ...

Top Navigation TOC

Hi, I have just started to use Flare for the first time and I'm trying to create HTML output using the new top navigation template. I have a few questions around the role of the TOC (apologies if the answers are obvious I am very new to Flare). What I would like: 5 menu items at the top of the scree...
