Re: Deleting unused files

Hey there, I ran the report in the now-included Analyzer tab, it's the Unused Items report. All it brings up is topics, which I don't want to delete. I could certainly select the topics and delete them. What I'd like to do is have this kind of report for unused images only. Then I can easily delete ...

Re: Editing pane showing weird formatting

I called Tech support and they jiggled the handle. Turns out I resized something and signed out before un-resiszing it, and it was affecting everything. :D

Logo not showing up in final build

I've added a logo in my Skin, Webroot_ftp_skin. The Logo exists in my Images folder. When I View my project on my own desktop, the logo shows up fine. But when we exported the project to our server, the logo showed up blank. What am I missing? I'm attaching a word doc that shows all the settings. I'...

Editing pane showing weird formatting

For some reason, my editing pane seems to be folding in on itself. I know there's an easy fix for this, but could you point me in the right direction? I've included a screen shot of my editing pane, where red lines for spelling issues show in the middle of the word - and blue lines for links are doi...

Online Images HUGE, Can I make them obey max width settings

Recently synced stylesheets in my GSM Admin Guide to my PC User Guide, which now contains the Master Stylesheet. Everything works except the size of the online images in the GSM AG. I have max width settings for online set to 725 em; this is set in the Stylesheet for online, and also at the image le...

Print (PT) vs Pixel (PX) for PDF Images

I'm developing my PDFs (finally!) and am updating my stylesheets because I'm syncing all the projects to a master style sheet. In doing this, I've discovered that I have not consistently used the same attribute for images throughout. Sometimes I use PT for images and sometimes I used PX for images. ...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

Yes, you are right, the way you explain it to me makes sense. The topic will show up twice - I'm doing that for the Breadcrumb in the online output. But I don't want duplicate topics in the PDF output. I now have two topics and they are each set with a condition tag for PDF or Online. However, I'm g...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

No, it doesn't make sense, because I only have topics in there once, also. I've got Getting Started as a Chapter, and Installing SecureAnywhere is the first subtopic, and also the overview, of sorts. When I link, if I don't link the Chapter to the topic, and then also link the topic to the topic, th...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

Thank you, this helps massively, now that I understand how to make it work for print! My question is then - because I link the Chapter to the topic and the topic to the topic, and the breadcrumb duplicates, is that something that folks just put up with? Like you said, online it is live-withable, but...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

You are essentially correct! While I didn't add the topic twice, the fact that I am linking the book to the first topic does create a breadcrumb trail that duplicates - the breadcrumb trail points to the chapter and to the first topic, and shows the same exact breadcrumb trail. I've attached an imag...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

I am in the text editor and it's not set up the way you describe. That is, I have the following: <body> <h1> <MadCap:keyword term="installing SecureAnywhere;SecureAnywhere:installing" />Installing SecureAnywhere</h1> <p>SecureAnywhere is available in several editions, described in the tabl...

Hey, thank you so much, now I know where the text editor version for the table style sheet lives. It was very easy to do a find and replace, and now the color shows up as it should do. : D

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

I'm attaching an image that is of how the PDF turns out - the first topic in a chapter duplicates the Chapter itself, and then doesn't reflect the true chapter name. The other image is of how the TOC Editor looks, which is what I think you're asking for; it shows the way I created it. For example, G...

Re: Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

I'm not sure what you mean by having two headings in the TOC that are linked the the same HTML file. I have Chapters, and I have topics below those chapters. The Chapter is linked to the first topic in that Chapter, so I can create breadcrumbs for the online output. Also, I don't want to exclude any...

Re: Page Numbers in PDF Output are off

Thank you for the tip. Alas, I'm not even sure what the settings should be to get the result that I would like. Should all Chapters have a Chapter break type? Should all topics have something else like a Page Layout break?

I never set any of these breaks, so I'm not sure how they got there!

Re: Table Headings Color in PDF Output

I do have a master stylesheet that I'm using for both my online output and print output. I know where it's located, and I know what it's called. But the icon for it is greyed out; I've attached an image so you can see it. And here's the code for the header row of my table; it's from the text editor ...

Re: Table Headings Color in PDF Output

Thank you, but I'm not looking to find a way to change the background color, I'm trying to find a way to change the color of the font used in the Header. MadCap was telling me to change the style in the table style sheet, on line 116, but there is no line 116, so I might be looking in the wrong place?

Page Numbers in PDF Output are off

The page numbers in my PDF output are wonky. The first topic starts on page 9, and then, the next page is page 1. The suggestion from Madcap was: " 6) In the PDF the Overview shows up as page 9 and then again as page 1. Remove the sub-level entry below WSA PC User Guide. " But if I remove ...

Table Headings Color in PDF Output

I'm trying to update the settings for table headings for my PDF output. However, I went everywhere in the css and the table css to update the color, but it's still the same color it was, whic was #006400 I want it to be #408740. The feedback I got from Madcap was: "In InstallingSecureAnywhere.h...

HR (Horizontal Rule) on page by itself in PDF Output

I have orphan lines in my PDF output. That is, HR (hard returns) that I've put into my online guide sometimes show up by themselves on their own page. The suggestion I got from Madcap was the following: "It looks like your horizontal rules are in a format called hr. In the css, you will want to...

Duplicate Topics in PDF Output

I'm on Flare v 11.1. For my online output, I link the Chapter with the first topic in that chapter, in order to create a nice breadcrumb link in the online output. For example, in my Getting Started chapter, the first topic is "Installing SecureAnywhere." I link the Getting Started chapter...
