Re: Embed files in PDF
Nope
this document is for internal use in my company, so the best solution I've found so far is to host the SQL file on an internal SharePoint site and put a hyperlink to it in the document.

Exclude content within a topic from search
Hello all,

UPDATE: I've figured out how to add the SQL files as an attachment in the PDF after it has been built. Does anyone know of a way I can include the attachments in the build?

Re: Learning fast
Watching MadCap's Flare webinars helped me a great deal. It gave me a chance to see how other people use Flare and helped me wrap my head around how I can apply Flare to what I'm doing.

Re: Find and Replace in Source Code - Wildcards
Please let me know if I'm not understanding the problem correctly, but you can apply a specific table style to every table in the project. Create a new table style sheet that has the attributes you want, then click the "Apply Style" button. I haven't tried this personally, but if you select the ...

Submitting a bug or enhancement request is still a good way to add some weight to an issue. The more complaints MadCap has about an issue, the more likely they are to fix it.

Re: Single page, and multi-author publishing advice needed
1) You can publish a single topic in Flare, though the topic may span multiple pages. This is done by creating a new TOC, adding just that topic to it, then building a target with that TOC selected.

This is happening to me as well, but only when my laptop is plugged in. Works fine when it is unplugged. I checked to see if there are any different display settings for when the laptop is plugged in, but everything is the same except for screen brightness.

Is Capture no longer bundled with Flare?
I remember that when we first started using Flare (v10), it was bundled with MadCap Capture. I rarely used Capture because I like SnagIt better, but now I'm trying to use the Insert Screen Capture integration in Flare 2017r2 and it's telling me I don't have Capture installed. When did they stop ...

I am trying to figure out how to keep drop-downs from automatically opening due to the search words entered to find the article. In my output, if I enter search text and then find the article, each drop-down that contains the search text open automatically.

Re: multiple guides in one project?
My team has all of our company's material in one project. There is not a lot of common content other than formatting, but I think it's easier to just have everything in one place so you're not jumping back and forth.

Re: Naming conventions of topics, etc.
Another good practice from a technical standpoint is to avoid using URL-unsafe characters in the topic filename if you are using any web-based outputs. We recently had a problem with one of our HTML5 help files because one of the topic filenames contained a "&".

Re: Table resizing in PDF output
I've run into this problem before, and it usually has something to do with content in the other columns (not the one getting squished) not being able to fit in the cell correctly, which can happen with long unbroken words (such as filenames) or large images.

I'm using a batch PDF target with 22 targets and I did a Build & Publish to a network drive. When I go to the drive to inspect the PDFs, I notice that one of my documents does not have the correct content based on its filename. The content found in the PDF named "Document A" belongs to ...

I submitted a bug...and while doing so, I discovered that the Preview does work, I just have to wait a full 60 seconds before anything shows up in the window
. In some cases, it would be quicker for me to just build the target.

Hmmm, I haven't used the method described in the Help topic you've linked to.
But I have just started using the new (in Flare 2017) System.LinkedTitle for TOC entries. Works beautifully. Open the TOC entry's Properties. On the General tab, to the right of the Label field, click the little ...
