Re: LinkedDocument folder

Hi Nmuss, This is tipical behaviour if the hyperlinked documents are not located within the project folder. In that case D2H copies the linked documents into the newly created LinkedDocuments folder and the file is downloaded when clicked in the nethelp target. I checked with D2H 6. If the linked do...

Re: Wonder how the Doc-To-Help's online help manage images

Hi Seakhong, Nita is correct. The online help of D2H is created with Flare. You can achieve something similar in D2H by using margin notes: Click in the paragraph of the image that you want to be the thumbnail and then click Create Margin Note on the Doc-To-Help ribbon. A table is created with the s...

Re: Programmatically script the generation of Doc-To-Help ou

Hi, Is the problem already solved? I assume that this is not a problem related to batch/scheduling a build. You will get the same error when starting the build manually. The error says that the template (probably the target template) selected in this D2H project no longer exists. Maybe it is acciden...

Re: Fatal errors after recent Windows/Office update

Hi all, My configuration D2H V6 (latest version) Windows 10 Word365, version 2111, build 14701.20290 I had the same warning message as Sjouke regarding the custom ribbon. I first created a backup of the attached template that caused the warning (in my case it was the xx_NORMAL_A4.dot), just to keep ...

Re: No more live links in PDF (manual) output

Hi Sjouke, Is your problem solved in the meantime? I checked at my end and links/TOC in the PDF output still works here. Also latest version of D2H and Office 365 Word version 2109. D2H uses the native Word PDF converter, but I assume you already checked those settings. I also read that there is (an...

Re: Problems after februari windows updates

Hi all, I just upgraded to Microsoft 365 Version 2101 (Build 13628.20528 Click-to-Run -- Word Version 16.0.13628.20318) and I can confirm that the issue with the performance related to the styleref fields is solved in this version. This version is now available in the Monthly Enterprise Channel. Bes...

Re: Problems after februari windows updates

Hi all, I have figured out what the problem is with the bad performance in my doc-to-help source documents. It turns out to be a MS Word problem, not a D2H. In my headers I have used styleref fields; one for heading 1 and one for heading 2. If I delete the stylreref field for heading 2, then the pro...

Re: Problems after februari windows updates

Hi Sjouke, Yes, the problem only seems to occur in print layout view. Other views to not have the problem. I guess the PDF problem is directly linked to this issue. But what to do now? We have automatic updates in our company, so I cannot revert that easily. And I am afraid Madcap and Microsoft will...

Problems after februari windows updates

Hi all,
Does anybody have any problems with D2H after the windows updates of this week? Looks like the word documents in the D2H projects keep repaginating and constantly have a high CPU usage.

Best regards

Re: Build performance long documents in Office365

Hi Sjouke, Thanks for your reply. The fact that you use modular projects might explain the fast individual builds. The project files (.d2h) with which I experience the performance problem are each less than 5 MB, each project has 34 source Word documents of in total 23,7 MB. The final manual master ...

Re: Build performance long documents in Office365

Just an update. I have the same performance problems when making a PDF of the manual when using Acrobat. So, this is no Doc-To-Help issue, but it seems a Word issue in M365.

Build performance long documents in Office365

Hello, I was wondering about the communities experience on the performance of Doc-To-Help in combination with Office 365 (or M365 as it is called now). Details: Windows10, D2H 6.0.7222.18354 Project example: 26 source Word documents, output type: manual with master document of approx. 1300 pages, ap...

Re: New releases ??

Hi Sjouke,

I also use a customized theme, but it is based on accordion. No problems with this one.
Maybe you could compare the old and new original tabs theme for the differences. That way it will be easier to change your customized theme accordingly.

WMS? You're kiddin', right :)

Yep, I installed it immediately and have no issues so far. I cannot test the Word 2019 support, because we will not have it implemented in our office until later this year.
Enjoy!

Re: Resizing images

Hi Raul, Your problem concerning the scaling of images sound like a very old bug with .doc files in V3 and later. I reported it in 2015, but for as far as I know this has never been fixed. The solution is to convert all your source documents and templates to DOCX-format. Then the scaling will be res...

Re: How to control the font and text in Search?

Hi EOM, To change the font of the text in the search box, put following in your user.css: #c1searchFilter { font-family: Calibri; } 'Calibri' is only an example here. Changing the text itself should work via the Theme designer ('Strings' section of the search settings --> Filter text). You need to r...

Hi EOM, Put this in your user.css and change the size as desired: /* toc text size */ .c1-toc-text { font-size: 16px; } Same for: .c1-index-text .c1-favorites-text Maybe there is a class on a higher level without further effect on the other buttons on the page, but could not find one. Hi Richard, This behavior is standard in V5. .d2h is still associated with the DocToHelp.exe, but will start Word (I thin\k with the first document) when double-clicking a project file. Hi, A question to all D2H users: I am pretty sure that there is or at least was a way to embed fonts in NetHelp. Does anybody remember how that was done and whether it will work in FireFox? Hi Sabine, I guess you mean @font-face This css-tag will also work in nethelp + firefox. However, even then I...

Re: Different text type diaplayed in different web browsers

Hi Lisa, I tested Wingdings, Webdings and the like in the latest version of D2H, 4.0.0.1398. In IE and Chrome they display fine, not in Firefox. As I already suspected, and as you can read in the various topics on internet, this is a 'strategy' of Mozzila. Doc-To-Help cannot do anything about this, ...

In your D2H project, click 'Project styles' in the 'Project' tab and select Heading 2 of the paragraph styles. In the middle you wil find the drop-down list 'Styles', ...

Re: {XE} Appearing in PDF output suddenly

Hi jalexander, You might want to check your 'Print hidden text' option in Word. In Word 2010 its in Options --> Display --> Printing options. Because generating PDF uses Word and 'print' the document to PDF, these settings will influence the output. If it is checked then uncheck it. Make sure it's t...

I am having a lot of trouble still with this. The Do Not Scale Graphics setting is not keeping the images the same size as in the word document and definitely not the same quality. Also, it's changing the placement of things like an image on top of an image - for instance, a red call out box over t...
