Re: Disqus with HTTPS nethelp site
Yes, you can turn it on or off by topic. We decided to implement disqus and leave it on for (basically) all topics so that if users found typos or incorrect/incomplete/missing content they could help us find it and resolve it. We also hoped that it would become more of a crowd-sourced idea generatin...

Disqus with HTTPS nethelp site
I am trying to get disqus to work with my nethelp site running over https. According to disqus, https is supported... but I can't seem to get it to work. So, if I visit our help system via http, we see the disqus panel: http://prosperohelp2.msxgroup.info/#!Documents/aboutprosperohelp.htm The disqus ...

Re: Twitter/Facebook Buttons
Thanks for the reply. We have overridden the "created by Doc-to-Help" button. I had no idea that the purpose of the twitter button was to share the current topic. That was not clear. Is there a way to remove these buttons, as it's really not appropriate for our help to be shared like that.

Twitter/Facebook Buttons
I am trying to figure out how to set the link for the twitter and facebook buttons in the nethelp output. I have been looking around and can see where in the theme designer I can change the actual icons, but there isn't anywhere that I can see to actually set the link to be our twitter feed. Am I mi...

Re: Trouble with TFS (VSTS Online) and Team Authoring
No, I hadn't seen that article. Since we use TFS Online, we don't control the version of it. That may very well explain some of the issues, if Microsoft updated the version on their hosted TFS site.

Re: Is Doc-to-Help suitable as a tool for SMEs?
Hi Mary, Well, my opinion is that you run this risk any time you have more than one set of hands on any document. So is it a concern? Sure. Is it *likely* to be a problem? Well, that depends on how well your SMEs follow directions and how often they make changes that would likely lead them to add or...

Re: Is Doc-to-Help suitable as a tool for SMEs?
I believe the Team authoring feature is what you'd use. This essentially relies on a source control system to take care of locks and version management. When a user checks out a document for editing, the lock is exclusive so no one else can be changing the same file at the same time. Depending on wh...

Re: Trouble with TFS (VSTS Online) and Team Authoring
Hi Rob, I am evaluating Doc-to-Help for my company. Did you get any response to this offline? ...We are using TFS as well. Thank you, Mary Hi Mary, I did not get an offline reply to this. I also did not expect one since I don't have a support contract and also since it seems staff may or may not ev...

Re: "Compile error: Can't find project or library"
Well, reinstalling Doc-to-Help did not fix this for me. Nor did reinstalling Word. What fixed it was reinstalling Windows, then installing Doc-to-Help and Word (etc.). Whether it was a Microsoft patch or not is unknown (and honestly, I see it as unlikely, given that we manage those updates and hadn'...

Re: Losing TFS connections in Doc-To-Help
Rob, how do you force TFS to re-download the project? I was never able to do so once my connection was broken, and we'd end up having to quite literally reload the first published version to TFS for me to be able to manage it in TFS again (fortunately, after the first couple of times I was smart en...

Re: Losing TFS connections in Doc-To-Help
I have to agree with jetboy2k on the major bug front. I have been seeing problems with topic IDs and ToC not being able to be propagate through TFS checkins/checkouts. So, the dev (editor) machine and the build (production) machine do not always seem to be in sync. In fact, today I had to force TFS ...

Re: "Compile error: Can't find project or library"
This actually just started happening to me as well after having used Doc-to-Help without this problem for many, many months. Now I'm going to reinstall it to see if that fixes it but it makes no sense that it would just suddenly start to do this. What causes it?

New Updates and Roadmap for Doc to Help?
We are currently running Doc to Help v3, build 3.0.0.1217. It has been a long time since we've seen an update come out and we had been used to seeing at least one if not two significant updates per year. I've emailed my contact at MadCap several times to find out the plans for updates but have never...

Trouble with TFS (VSTS Online) and Team Authoring
We've been using Doc to Help with the "team build" features enabled for some time and it was working well. A few months ago, this stopped working so well. Essentially, the symptom we see is that when a document is checked out via the Team tab in Doc to Help, an edit lock is placed on the f...
