Re: Add Title to Mini TOC
Amygil, if you do that, is there any way to style that introductory text in CSS? Thanks.

Re: finding broken links in target
Maybe we are not looking in the same place. I excluded the files that I do not want to be in the build, and then I look at the table of warnings that gets generated when the build finishes (press 'Open Build Log' and select the 'Warnings' tab). If you double-click on a row, it opens the offending ...

Re: finding broken links in target
Well, here's the issue (I think). I have been excluding topics by placing conditions on the TOC. But this means that topics that are LINKED to topics in the TOC are also included in the build. But those LINKED topics are among those I have excluded in the TOC. This means that when someone searches ...

finding broken links in target
This seems like a really basic thing, but I'm baffled...
How do I find broken links in a particular target? Here's the situation: I have a master TOC with topics A,B,C,D,E. I apply conditions so that Target #1 consists of topics A,B,C. Target #2 consists of topics C,D,E. I want to make sure that ...

Re: Is it me? Or is it Flare 12?
Sorry, I don't know if this addresses anyone's issues, but I will mention it. I find that keeping the TOC open in the GUI kills the responsiveness of Flare in a number of areas, such as applying styles, inserting images, opening and closing topics, etc. Perhaps this is unique to my project, which is ...

Re: synchronize TOC and heading
Thanks very much. I think that will help. Unfortunate that it is on a topic-by-topic basis, but thanks anyway for the pointer. -- Dave

Re: 'forward' and 'back' buttons in HTML5?
Thanks, but that doesn't tell me how to do what I want. I tried adding 'back' and 'forward' buttons using the Proxy, but they simply do not appear in the HTML5 output.

'forward' and 'back' buttons in HTML5?
Hi. I notice that the toolbar in HTML5 has just a 'Navigate Previous' and 'Navigate Next' button, but no 'Forward' and 'Back' buttons. Why is this? How do I get those buttons to appear? Thanks.

synchronize TOC and heading
Hi. I'm coming from FrameMaker where the TOC item is always identical to the corresponding heading text. It seems that in Flare, if I am changing a heading, I need to independently change the corresponding TOC item. That seems weird and error-prone. Is there a way to force the TOC text to always ...

Re: advance to next topic?
Basically, I have a set of doc packages which all share some common "chapters". So I created a single giant TOC that contains everything, and I'm toggling the chapters for each target using conditions. So imagine that Target 1 has chapters ABCDEF and Target 2 has chapters CDEFGHI. What I did is I ...

Re: advance to next topic?
Ah, interesting. OK, will check all this out when I get to my work computer. But the issue of multiple TOCs raises another question in my mind. I have to build several "books" or "doc sets" for our several different product versions. Each product version shares some material with other product ...

Re: advance to next topic?
Thanks. But there is no "page forward" button or anything like that? I am coming to Flare from FrameMaker, and I think I would find it hard to work without a TOC. Just a flat listing of 1000 topics seems really hard to navigate. Maybe I just need to learn the Flare work style better.

advance to next topic?
Here's a basic question! If I am editing a topic and I want to advance to the next topic in the TOC, how do I do that? Thanks!

numbered lists?
Hi. I'm new to this and kind of baffled by the FrameMaker import process. I got stuck rather immediately. Some questions:
1) How do I handle my numbered lists? I have lists with multiple levels and "continuation" paragraphs, all with different Paragraph formats of course. What's the right approach ...
