The problem to boot is that occasionally the database gets coruupted and you are stuck with a Database that keeps saying you got 400 broken links eventhough you dont
Wish there was a way to turn off the advanced and normal scan.

its sadly not possible in HTMLHelp as this is a built in feature. In webhelp you can most likely find it in the stylesheet or the corresponding Javascript file

Re: Build-in Flare Analyzer reports are not true to life
sometimes analyser or the internal buily analyser of flare does not clear the changes well with the database. Deleting the analyser folder in your flare project can help a lot with fixing that problem. A trick I used with analyser was I would make a clean CSS file that was empty, bind it to all my p...

Re: Related Topic Links not in Popup Menu
The way HTMLHELP works is that the language of your OS determines the language of your HTMLHELP if you give me your german helpfiles for example it would display it in german but the menu buttons and such would be in english. If your related topics link are not showing the correct output/formatting ...

Re: How can we edit the same file?
aslong as the flare project is on a network drive you can both open the file at the same time however ther eis no control over what and when someone is editing the same file. Aslong as you have a Microsoft Source Control API compatible Source Control you can use any source control to bind it to you :)

Re: Togglers vs Dropdowns
Hello there Liz, The Biggest difference between Togglers and Dopdowns are that Dropdowns are big paragraphs of text. Where as a toggler you can hide anywhere or reveal anywhere. A Drop down works like this: [Drop down] hello blah blah [/dropdown] As you see it has to be one big list of connected par...

Re: Find and Replace, and apply formatting
I use the tool QuickSR You can give him all the HTML files in one go and tell him what to do when he finds the word so for example: I have a building Will become I have a <i> Building</i> Be aware though that a search and replace is very dangerous as you have no idea how the syntax is of where the w...

Re: How to improve compilation time in Flare v4
Masterpages can slow down your compliation time aswell as its adding to every page the masterpage during compitation. I have a guide on the top page that should help you, sadly most of the time your bottleneck will be the hard disk.

Re: Broken links that are not broken
I once had this problem in Flare 4.1 and apparantly it means there is something in your analyser database thats causing this corruption. Remove the Analyser folder from your flare project and let it rebuild. It should remove a lot of the hyperlinks that were "broken" I had this with a cust...

Re: Validating Flare XML with an XML editor
Flare only keeps the Project files in XML code You can find these here: C:\Program Files (x86)\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare V4\Flare.app\Resources\Schemas Once flare has built though its XHTML and basically does not require XSD's the only reason the reference is made to the madcap site is so that it...

Re: Is it possible to have a Global Glossary?
You could make a Flare project with just the glossary in it and import it to the other flare projects that use it so that you have one centralized place to edit it. As you can have the glossary be updated every single build it should be relatively easily. You can find this functionality under the im...

You can let flare import the robohelp 6/7 projects. Sadly you will lose a few of the things that are new to those Robohelps. the Conditionals will not properlty convert, and the variables / snippets are also missing.

Re: 4.1.40 Update Released
My intention was just to explain what the MSP was, aside from supporting flare I also support Windows Installer products. the reason why the entire MSP is so slow is because it does an integrity test on your source files stored in the C:\windows\installer folder. Once it has verified that everything...

Re: Quickly building an index
if you use the Auto create index feature basically you need to add phrases that you want flare to look for. and what the index word should become so if you add car in your phrase and then tell it to add it to the index term Car it will basically look for everything that has car in it and make an ind...

Re: 4.1.40 Update Released
the new update is an MSP file or beter known as a Patch Setup. Just download the file and run it, aslong as you have never cleared out your C:\Windows\Installer folder everything should be fine. It basically checks for the original MSI file of 4.1 and then compares its files against the files you ha...
