Disappearing images

I've got a weird and annoying problem.

When I build and view my project, about a third of the time some navigation images are missing. There are several missing, but the one that is easiest for me to check is transparent.gif, which is located in the skin's Images directory. When this happens, if I ...

Re: Stop Flare from inserting spaces inside <pre> tag

Just an update with my workaround, in case someone else suffers from this. It isn't fun, but it works.

In the XML editor, select the code that is inside the <pre> tag, and apply the <code> format.

Switch to the text editor.

Make sure that the <pre> tag is actually <pre xml:space="preserve ...

Stop Flare from inserting spaces inside <pre> tag

I've got code samples in <pre> tags. The problem is that when I insert a tag inside the <pre> tag, Flare inserts spaces on the left to prettify the HTML. The problem is that this is inside a <pre> tag, so those spaces are preserved, messing up the code format.

Is there a way to stop this from ...

Re: skin loses transparent.gif file

Update: you can't just drop a skin file in like I did. You need to use Add Skin (in the New dropdown in the ribbon view and in the Project menu in the menu view) to create a new skin based on the one you want to "import".

Re: Automatic TOC incorrect

Update: I didn't figure out what is causing this exactly, but I did figure out that it was something in our CSS, possibly also something in our skin. I discarded those and went to a Flare standard CSS, and the TOC rendered correctly.

What is a book?

Sorry for the ridiculous question, but I'm having trouble with TOCs and this is one issue.

You can insert "books" and "topics" into TOCs. I've come to the conclusion that a "book" is really just something that contains topics, so it isn't what most humans think of as a book at all, but is ...

Automatic TOC incorrect

The online navigation that is generated for my project isn't coming out correctly.

In particular, for one topic, which begins with h1 and has h2, h3, and h4 headings, the first thing that appears in the TOC after the h1 is an h4, and the several h2 and h3 headings that appear before it don't appear ...

Re: Copy skin

Update -- I found a method that works!

Use "Add Skin" in the New dropdown in the Project ribbon. Choose "New from existing" and navigate to the skin that you want to import. Select that, and make a new skin based on it.

When I built the project this time, the missing images were included in the ...

Re: Copy skin

wclass: I so liked that answer, and thought for sure it would work. But it doesn't -- I get the same result, at least when I limit the import to .flskn files.

Dave Lee: I wish it did work, but it doesn't. As for the install being the problem, the graphic files are in my install, just like they are ...

Copy skin

This seems like an obvious thing to need to do, but I can't find it in the docs or forums.

How do you copy a skin from one project to another? I tried just physically copying the skin file, and that seems to have created problems (when I share the project, it is missing at least one file ...

skin loses transparent.gif file

When I generate and view my HTML locally (from the output folder), it looks fine. However, if I zip it up and post it and then download it, unzip, and view, it has ugly missing image artifacts. The image it is missing is transparent.gif. Oddly, it has sometimes been there (I know because I looked at ...

Re: XML Editor not WYSIWYG

I've got this exact problem -- while my touchpad settings had some ridiculously sensitive settings on a new ThinkPad, I evidently accidentally clicked something to get into this mode.

However, the <t> button mentioned as the solution doesn't appear anywhere -- perhaps because it has moved in this ...
