Address Being Converted for SOME Users
Testing our Flare help system internally. For most users, when they access help from withing our software, using the following link for example - file://ike/TESTING/CFDEVSUPPORT/HELP/Content/Job%20Cost/JJE%20Job%20Maintenance.htm?cshid=JJE- it works fine and opens the file in a browser as it should....

Re: Reducing Output Project/File Size
David, Thank you. I'm surprised that the menu code generates in each topic rather than once in the skin. But, I already went through the exercise of moving from tri-pane to top-nav for better control of the search bar.....and unfortunately, I do need the ability to drill down to each individual topi...

Re: Reducing Output Project/File Size
Hi DougieChimes. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "each .htm file generated contains the entire project dropdown menu". In any case, just because 90% of the html content may be the same, that may not account for the overall size being larger than it otherwise would need to be. For i...

Reducing Output Project/File Size
Hi Folks, My Web Output project size is nearly 700mB. Our help is embedded into our software, and because of the large file size, it's causing some pain when our customers download. Is there any advice to reducing the size of the output? One thing my techs noticed is that each .htm file generated co...

Re: Inserting Code for Live Chat Applet
Dave Lee, Thank you for the response. I saw another thread that had this same problem, but it was unresolved. Here was my solution in case anyone else runs into this problem: My Help project is not web based. It's built into our software and accessed by the client's browser as .htm files. The Java s...

Inserting Code for Live Chat Applet
I'm trying to insert a snippet of script from LiveChat, so their live chat feature will work on my Flare project.
It doesn't seem to work in the Home page, the footer page, and I can't see anywhere it could be inserted into the skin.
Any ideas?

Re: Easy Way to Move Search Bar in Tripane?
Thanks roboHAL.
I just went ahead and converted my tripane project to a top nav, and got the result I wanted. I think in the long run, it's going to be much easier to modify.

Re: Add Search Bar to Home Page in Tri-Pane?
David Lee - Thank you!
You helped solve my dilemma. I'm now switching over to top nav. Spent too much time trying to get tripane to look and act like topnav, when I should have just converted.
Thanks again.

Re: Add Search Bar to Home Page in Tri-Pane?
No, you can't use a search bar proxy in a tripane skin - it only works for the top nav skin (or no skin at all). It's in the help: http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare12/Content/Proxies/Using_the_Search_Bar_Proxy.htm?Highlight=tripane OK - Dave Lee - the link you have above - that's exactly what...

Add Search Bar to Home Page in Tri-Pane?
Hello, I've been trying, without success (and using David Lee's tutorial), to move the Search Bar to the center of the header in the Tri-Pane skin. After working on this for hours - I have another question: Can I add a Search Bar to my Home Page, like in TopNav, but in Tri-Pane? This would also solv...

Easy Way to Move Search Bar in Tripane?
Hi All, I'm simply trying to move the Search Bar in the triplane skin to either 1) The Center of the Header, or 2) The left side of the header, underneath the logo. Having it on the right doesn't work for my project, since the search bar need to be prominent for my customers. I've read through so ma...
