How to prevent local styles from messing up the pdf

Re: Sharing content between tripane and topnav projects
i was under the impression that you can mix the topnav and tripane in the same project. is that not the case?

Sharing content between tripane and topnav projects
I have a fairly deep html5 tripane help system for admins. We want to reuse the content in the help desk folder in a separate flare project that will produce a topnav system for end users. What are the gotchas? Can I just import that folder into the topnav project?

Re: advice for working with a web designer
<rant>it's a startup, we all wear multiple hats, the lead designer is an artist first, i'm a relative newbie with flare, my css/html skills are limited, there's little patience for limitations...the first big roadblock we hit was their desire to mix aspects of top nav and tripane. then there was the ...

Re: advice for working with a web designer
so attempting to get designers and engineers to play nicely with Flare has left me at risk of needing to change tools. I'm wondering if hiring someone with Flare experience to create a pretty new skin. Thoughts?

Re: advice for working with a web designer
the engineers are already reskinning things. I think this has more to do with page layout within a topic. they want it to look more like a stylized web page. i'm old school. Left justified, etc. so it sounds like Flare might not play nicely with advanced changes the designer might want to introduce ...

advice for working with a web designer
my html5 output is too blah according to management. I wouldn't argue. they want more of a design to each landing page, and I just look at it as one webified book. so I've been partnered with our ux/ui designer. any advice on how to collaborate with someone who won't be using MadCap directly? can I ...

New ideas for reusing content for training slides?
The existing topics in this forum are a little old. Has anyone come up with new and interesting options for enabling curriculum developers to single-source content for slides?

Re: to use #define or not to use #define
same brand of pain as reorganizing the files. but i still control the changes in the json file. manually. we can land a rocket on a barge in the middle of the ocean, but i'm looking at maintaining a mapping file by hand.
thanks!
thanks!

Re: public and private content in one output
i suspect the approach didn't fly because it sounds like duplicating data. spent a day working on a slide deck to try and explain the difference. we shall see. thanks!

public and private content in one output
I've only been using madcap for one of my 29 years in technical communication, so apologies if this is obvious...
My management wants to fold authentication into my output somehow. My proposal to just output three flavors of the same content (public, admin, and internal) did not fly. I pointed out ...

to use #define or not to use #define
My engineering team has suggested ditching the madcap-managed header file in favor of a json file with absolute paths to URLs that i would maintain manually. The advantage would be leaving the topics that appear in our contextual help menu up to me (no waiting three sprints to add a new topic ...

Mixed components in html5 output
howdy,
please excuse the newbie question...
my product team was so impressed with my online doc output that they want to incorporate it in the product, with some reskinning, of course. well, the specs i received from the designer are giving me fits, as they combine tri-pane and top nav components ...
