Re: False positive on missing link to a variable set

I don't have Analyzer but I'm getting something similar. I imported FrameMaker files into a project and now when I open the Link Viewer I get a broken link to a variable set that doesn't exist. :?: The link looks like this: /Project/<VariableSets/<variables file that does not exist.flvar> The option...

Re: Unlink to Imported Files Source

There is a way but only if you are happy to edit the code. Open the TOC in the text editor. The second line should have a reference to the source file - remove that reference. For example, in the following snippet of code, you would remove the sourceDocument=="C:\temp\test_Mar_2011.docx" ...

Nita, once again, you're a lifesaver! I could not for the life of me figure out why all my PDFs went haywire when I took my laptop home.

Thanks, GaryUK, that worked great. However, I agree with jbkalla that there should be an option to expand the TOC by default. So, heading to the feature request page.

Re: Output file name contains a dot (.)

I found a workaround that works for Flare 12. (I don't know if it works in other versions.) Basically, if I enter "Software_Manual_v1.23.4" in the Output File field for my PDF target file I get a file named "Software_Manual_v1.pdf". However, if I enter "Software_Manual_v1.23...

Re: Thumbnail Not Displaying Full Size When Clicked

Jim,

Did you ever get an answer? I'm having the same issue. I'd like to get the images to pop-up to to the same maximum size (e.g., 1024 pixels) but I don't see any way of doing that in Flare.

Thanks,

Re: Excluded files appearing in target

I had files that were correctly excluded in PDF but incorrectly included in HTML5. As it turned out, Do you have more than one condition tag set in your condition tag folder? I can imagine somehow ending up with duplicate condition tag sets and selecting the tag from the wrong one. this was the issu...

Pre tag paragraphs are messed up in Word outputs

I have another issue with Word outputs. :( I use the “pre” style for code outputs and when I create my Word outputs I get spaces added to the second and following lines. (No issues in all other outputs.) I have several issues with Word outputs in Flare 12 (none of which I had in Flare 11) but this i...

Re: images in Word output

I've been having this issue with Word too. :( (No issues in HTML5, PDF, or CHM files.) Is there a way to disable the resizing, and to instruct Flare to insert the image into the Word output 'as-is'? I've developed a very inelegant solution to do this. What I did is create two conditions for images: ...

Re: Printed output generation question

I finally figured out how to get the "chapnum" variable to work by opening my TOC in the internal text editor instead of double-clicking it and using Flare's default TOC editor. Once I saw it there I realized I had misunderstood Flare's documentation. Here's the now-working version of my T...

Re: Printed output generation question

Steve, Thanks for responding so quickly! Open its properties dialog, and set the Chapter on the Autonumber tab. In my TOC I have all chapters >1 set to Increment number . I can set Chapter 1 to "1" or Increment number and it works either way. jkpalmer's code looks to be what you need, it u...

Re: Printed output generation question

I have a compliment and a question. I have changed h1, h2, and h3 in my "print" medium to have autonumbering h1 is set to CH:{n+} - h2 is set to CH:{n}.{n+} - h3 is set to CH:{n}.{n}.{n+} - I just wanted to say thank you! :D I've been struggling with getting the paragraph numbering in my p...

Re: Is it me? Or is it Flare 12?

I'm definitely finding Flare v12 buggier than v11. For example, just this morning Flare crashed when I clicked Ignore All during a spell check. (This is not the first time that this has happened.) I've also had issues with my print outputs (as I mentioned here https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewt...

I'm bumping this thread since I'm having the same issues. For example, here's how my table header looked initially: flare-hyphenated-table.png I don't want either word hyphenated so I opened up my stylesheet, set the media to print, and set mc-hyphenate in my <th> tag to never . Unfortunately, here'...

Re: New Following Style

I created an indented note class ( p.NoteIndented ) where I want the next paragraph to be a normal <p> paragraph so I tried this: Basically the settings you are using allow you to pick a specific class of P, but don't let you select NO class of p. I've seen people do a work around where they put the...

Re: Error: "Build Failed: The directory is not empty"

Hmmm. I'm starting to think it's a Flare 12 issue because it only happened a handful of times with Flare 11 but on Flare 12 it's a daily occurrence for me. Also, it only happens on my print outputs and never the online ones.

Yea, that's what happened. Somehow, the test TOC I created to test print output became the master TOC. The solution was thinking about something other than Flare (lunch in my case  ).
