Change git repositories?
I have two repositories: Customer Facing Docs located in my personal bitbucket (current) Documentation located in my corporate bitbucket (about 2 years old) I need to switch Flare's binding from the current repo (under my personal bitbucket) to the old one under my corporate bitbucket. I unbound the...

Topics are being skipped in TOC
I'm creating a new target, and have built out the TOC. When I build the PDF, the TOC is ahead of the title page, and the entire Introduction section is missing. I've checked conditional tags and they're all clear. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I've attached a screenshot of the TO...

Madcap Central authentication not stored in Flare?
I'm evaluating Madcap Central, and have bound my Flare project to Central. In Flare, when I open my project, it asks me to log into Central. It's saved my email address/username, but not my password. Is there any way to tell Flare/Central to save my credentials so I don't have to type my password ev...

Re: PDF output not 508 Compliant
Update: I've run my Flare-produced PDFs through Adobe Acrobat Pro's autotagger feature, and that's cleaned up a lot of the errors. The big one I'm running into next is alt text on images. I've set up alt text on an image, both in the Flare topic and in Capture, but somewhere between Flare and Adobe ...

Re: PDF output not 508 Compliant
I'm trying to avoid Word - Flare is notoriously bad at producing Word outputs. At least in my experience, they came out pretty mangled. I have been finding that Adobe Acrobat Pro has several accessibility features that fix some of the compliance issues in the PDFs Flare produces.

Re: PDF output not 508 Compliant
Update: Went through the settings on my target and clicked "Generate tagged PDF" which at least got rid of the errors in the compliance checker (not certain if it actually solved the problem or just put a bandaid on it), but my PDF is still showing up as "corrupted" with the erro...

PDF output not 508 Compliant
I'm looking at a 508 compliance check for my PDF targets, and they're failing. It looks like one of the major problems is that Flare is turning every letter into an individual separate text element, so the compliance tool expects every single letter/character in my document to be tagged. Admittedly,...

Re: Conditional Formatting?
Thanks - that did the trick! I ended up putting the body (only two paragraphs) into a snippet, then added it twice to a single topic - once for each target with conditional styles applied (see below). It violates DRY, but it's the most elegant solution available. Topic
title
<condition: QSG...

Re: Conditional Formatting?
Sorry, I should have included this in my original post. The problem is that the chapter heading page layout has a dark blue background, so I've created a
style that changes the font color to white. On a normal page, the font color should be black. So changing the page layout in the TOC is no big...

Conditional Formatting?
Hi All - I have a group of topics that appear in two different outputs. The problem I'm running into is that in Output 1 these topics are a full chapter, so they need to be formatted thusly, with page one using the Chapter First page layout, etc. In Output 2, they are simply a subsection of an exist...

Summary shows broken links, Detail says no entries found
I'm cleaning up my Flare project after about 3 months of importing old docs, etc. I've fixed all of the critical issues, but the summary report still shows 5 broken links. When I click on that line in the summary report, the detail says "No entries found." I've re-scanned the project, clos...

Re: Page Layouts not working with Word
I'm having a similar problem in which the PDF output is spotless, but the Word formatting is all messed up. I found this article that explains most of the causes of the Word weirdness - hopefully it helps some of you as well!

Re: Wrong Image Appears in PDF Output
Thanks @ajturnersurrey! Not sure if that was the problem, but it's as good an explanation as any. I ended up deleting the image from my Flare topic, then recapturing the screenshot. That fixed the problem.

Wrong Image Appears in PDF Output
The weirdest thing is happening. I have a PDF target, and when I build it, all of my screenshots show up as expected, except for one. When I look at the topic inside of Flare, the correct image shows up. But when I look at the same topic in the PDF, it's a different screenshot image. Any clue what's...

Screenshot looks fine in Capture, Blurry in Word
I'm working on some legacy documentation that I haven't gotten into Flare yet - mostly updating screenshots. I'm using Capture, and when I look at the screenshots in capture, they look fine. When I insert them into a Word doc, they're blurry. I'm capturing .PNG files at 300 dpi so image quality shou...

Project Planning - am I doing this correctly?
Hi everyone, I'm new to Flare, so trying to get up to speed while bringing all of our existing documentation into single sourcing, etc. We currently have three types of documentation: User Guide, Quick Start Guide, and Release Notes. There's a fair amount of crossover, especially between the QS Guid...
