Re: Weird Cross References in PDF Format
Can you post what CSS declarations you have in your MadCap|xref style? Also, to the topic being linked to, open the topic properties from the Content Explorer. In the Topic Properties tab, what do you have in the Topic Title box? Hi Daniel - Here are the only things I have on CSS properties: - colo...

Weird Cross References in PDF Format
This is a problem I've had at multiple companies and with multiple projects/versions of Flare. Until now, I've been able to avoid it, but now fixing it is crucial. Whenever I output to PDF, any cross-reference to another topic in the same TOC displays a seemingly random string of numbers after the r...

Hide topics based on roles/licenses?
Has anyone found a successful method for hiding topics in an HTML output based on a user's role or license? For example, if we have a topic called "Tips for Administrators" and a topic called "Tips for Clerks," is there a way to hide topics in the help file that are marked "...

Re: Removing Old Files in Child Project
Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. I just didn't know the name for it/how to search for it.

Removing Old Files in Child Project
I didn't know what terminology to search for this issue by, so forgive me if this has already been posted somewhere. Is there a way to have Flare remove files from a child project that were imported from a linked parent project, but no longer exist in the parent project? The issue here is that I may...

Re: Font changes to bold unexpectedly
FYI - I'm still seeing this issue in Flare 2017. Guess that bug has been sitting around quite a while.

Re: Tracking Changes
Thanks, Nita! Somehow I had never realized that was a feature. I guess because I'd never needed it before. Thanks.

Tracking Changes
Hey all, I'm trying to brainstorm of a way easily to track changes for reviewers. Here's our current process: Topic is written in Flare > Topic is output to Word for business analyst review (BAs do not have Flare) > BAs add comments using Word and return document to writer > Writer applies edits in ...

Mine does this as well with Subversion. Haven't been able to find out how to fix it yet...

Re: Topic pop-ups and the TopNav skin
When I do this workaround, it does work and I do get a popup. However, the popup still contains the normal TopNav heading (with the search bar and menu items, etc.), even when I use a blank Master Page. Any fix for this?

Re: When moving a folder - no prompt to update links
I am bound to Subversion and I have gotten that issue before (when moving or renaming files). It took committing all the files to Subversion before the files would update again.
Hope that helps.

Search Input Failing Expectations
Hi all - I'm looking at the HomeSearchBar skin in Flare 12. Here's the scene: When I click in the search bar in the Web Medium preview, the search input text disappears upon clicking, and reappears upon clicking somewhere else (if nothing is typed into the field, of course). This is the design I exp...

Re: XML Layout Different than PDF Layout
Thanks for the reply! By the time this post made it onto the forums, I had called Flare Support and found out the solution. It's the same problem described in the following thread, where Flare does not support the default 125% magnification in Windows: https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php...

XML Layout Different than PDF Layout
I'm having an issue where the layout of my pages in the XML editor is different than how it builds in the PDF. The issue is that there seems to be something wrong with the margins or maybe the font size, where more fits on a page in the PDF than fits on a page in the XML editor. Both the margins app...
