Flare 2019 and Git Hub - Keep losing the binding

Hi everyone, We are using Flare 2019 in a team of Authors with GitHub. Since upgrading to the new version of Flare where GitHub is built into the app we are having problems with reliability of the process. The branch is often broken but shows as intact in Flare. The net result is we can't trust the ...

Re: Image map not working properly

I have now solved this. In the image map within Flare some of the areas drawn onto the picture where overlapping. This caused the resulting output to malfunction. Once the image map areas were restored to a non overlapping discrete state the hyperlinked areas of the images worked fine. So the lesson...

Image map not working properly

Hi Everyone, I have experienced a serious issue with image maps .. I added a large number of image maps over a screen shot with some callout labels on. Each map is over a square label and is pointing to the correct destination. When I look at HTML5 output in Chrome each square label appears to have ...

Page breaks before headings for pdf outpout

Hi Everyone, When I create a PDF target I wanted to obtain a page break before the heading at the top of a topic. Within Flare the heading at the top of each topic is h1. So I set the style sheet up as follows: Medium - printed h1, PrintSupport page-break-before: always The target is set to use TOC ...

Re: Adding a border to a Heading 1 paragraph

Question: Is the target that you've got set as the primary target associated with the style sheet you edited? Hi Nita, Subsequent checking has shown that the border I added to the heading 1 style does show in the compiled output. So, I guess that's a yes in answer to your question but it does not d...

Adding a border to a Heading 1 paragraph

Hi Everyone, I am having a problem with getting borders to work on an H1 style. First I edited the style properties to have a bottom border line under the heading. I then saved all. The preview in the style editor showed a boder line underneath the paragraph as I had set. But when I looked at a topi...

Re: Hiding Index entries

Hey there Steve.... If you mean hide the index entry from the authoring/input/source side, you would deselect 'show markers'. If you mean hide the index entry from appearing in the output, you would do this the same way as text. Namely, using a conditional tag(s) that is set in the target to be omi...

Re: Using an image as a bullet point

cdschroeder wrote:Did you try using the ul style instead of the li style? And does your image have an equal amount of white space on all sides?
Solved it by setting the cell vertical align to 5pt. didn't need to change style type.
Also tried u style but this had no effect on image alignment.

Re: Paragraph styles with bullets and numbering

To create multiple paragraphs in a list item, right-click the list item and click Create paragraph item. This wraps the list item in a paragraph tag. If you press enter in this paragraph now, you will create a new paragraph still inside the list item and indented the same way as the first paragraph...

Hiding Index entries

Hi All,
I have created some index entries in a topic as shown in the next picture;

Please can you tell me how to hide these?
I presume these don't have to be displayed all the time?
Thanks

Re: Using an image as a bullet point

What property are you using to add the image? If you are using background-image, remove it and use list-style-image instead. Also, I recommend applying this to the ul style rather than the li style, because the li style applies to both numbered and bulleted list items. The image is using list style...

Indenting list styles

Hi Everyone, So far I have been able to create stepped instructions using numbered steps and bulleted sub steps using custom styles based around <ol> tags. The next problem I have to solve is when I create a standard list and create a style under say <li> and I set the padding to indent the bulleted...

Re: Paragraph styles with bullets and numbering

There are quite a few topics on numbering on this forum, including a very recent one. Have a quick search and you should find some good information. There are basically three ways you can handle this: You can create a normal ordered list (<ol>) and create paragraphs within the list for the unnumber...

Re: Bulleted oe numbered sub steps

You can achieve this by creating an unordered list (<UL>) within your ordered list. There is a fair bit of information about this. https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9519 https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16812 https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtop...

Paragraph styles with bullets and numbering

In Robohelp, I did everything using paragraph styles, for example stepped instructions and bulleted lists. Flare does not...
