Re: Converting a Flare project
Thank you for taking the time to respond. Yes, I'll check the Robohelp forum. Very sorry the inconvenience.

Converting a Flare project
There've been echoes and signals we may have to convert to Robohelp sometime in the next year. Though Flare's been awesome for us, I don't have a say in the matter. Anyway, has anyone had experience, or know of anyone who's had experience, converting a massive Flare project to Robohelp? I don't need ...

Re: Search not returning results
Solved. It was something I'd suspected but didn't know how to confirm. MadCap support graciously agreed to get on a call and poke around in the project a bit. We discovered the culprit was a script that'd been applied to the never-used Build Events tab on the target. A few weeks ago, a colleague ...

Re: Search not returning results
Thank you for the suggestion. Our IT department has reset IIS, rebooted the help server and replaced the wildcard certificate, all to no effect. I submitted a bug and was asked to zip and upload the project to MadCap. We've done this in the past, and it's been hit-and-miss whether we hear back. I'll ...

Search not returning results
We have two versions of an HTML5 help site--one current, one older. They reside on the same in-house help server, each in a different directory. A couple of weeks ago, we began to receive reports that search wasn't working in the current version. In most cases, when you type a term and press <Enter ...

Flare Training
I've been using Flare for many years but, due to workload and deadlines, have relied heavily on a set of go-to features that get the job done. The time has come to dig deeper/expand horizons/[insert applicable cliche]. I've reviewed the web training sessions on the MadCap website but realize I could ...

MicroContent background color mystery
In one project skin, I added a background color to the Search Micro Content Result style. Works great; entire background is that color. In another project, I added the same color to the same style, but in the output, the entire background is not that color, only the outer portion; the text itself ...

Link two different topics to same search phrase
How would you link two different topics to the same search phrase so both topics appear at or near the top of the search results list in HTML5 output?

Re: How to work with DIVs
Right back at you, @ChoccieMuffin. And thank you, Mr. Lee, for gently keeping after me as regards the Responsive Layout angle, including the cell=column news flash. Although it didn't change my status as the antithesis of a DIV master (maybe I can get through life yet without becoming one), it ...

Re: How to work with DIVs
Deeply humbled by your kindhearted efforts to get this wretch a clue. I always knew the day would come when whistling past these dastardly DIVs no longer would be an option. Although I've experimented fruitlessly with the handful of complex selector settings that contain values, I haven't abandoned ...

Re: How to work with DIVs
Thank you for the links. We're using a top nav template downloaded from MadCap. The bottom-half of the home page contains columns. I've been asked simply to add a column but to my shame have been unable to do so without inadvertently out-Picassoing Picasso. The sheer brute force of copying and ...

How to work with DIVs
Although I've been using Flare for a while, I struggle mightily with DIVs, so I try to stay away from them. We're using a home page template that contains columns with DIVs, and I'm not even able to add a column without thoroughly messing up the layout. Does anyone have a link to a "Flare DIVs for ...

Re: Another search issue
You're absolutely right. Including the server-side help engine requires us to do just that. It helps some, but far from all the way. The only solution we can think of is to forego making Word docs and PDFs searchable. It's unfortunate, because search is everything.

Another search issue
As mentioned in a previous post, our html5 target is set up to include server-side help engine, and we've been working through problems as they manifest themselves in the search results. One we can't seem to make go away: A host of files conditioned to be excluded from the target bullheadedly ...

Re: Search issue
Thank you for taking the time to respond and provide the link. Yes, I should've said, we have followed the steps provided in the Flare help. Sorry about that. When we have server-side output turned on, the search results are unreliable. What we get often is nothing like what we're expecting. The ...

Re: Topic hero background image
Hello, Michelle,
Sorry for the long delay, but I haven't been back to the forum in a while. With a bit of sweat, if I recall, I was able to get the image the way I wanted it, but the details--because it's been a while and I'm not often in the stylesheet--may escape me at the moment.

Does anyone out there use the Include server-side Help engine target setting so PDF and Word files are included in searches, and if so, do your search results make sense? Ours don't.

Re: Button Effect
By the way, the directions in Dave's suggested link work nicely; they deliver the effect I'm after once the button has been rolled over. But is there a way in the stylesheet to create the animated effect of the button popping out as it's rolled over? I've tried applying the style to the hover class ...

Re: Button Effect
Yes, the example from the Balboa template is the kind of effect I'm looking for. We're using a different template, but following the responses here, I'll try to work up the same effect in ours. You've all been very helpful. Thank you.
