Non-standard HTML for Menu Proxy lists
We have hit another issue with what seems like an out-of-the-box feature in MadCap Flare for HTML 5 that causes an accessibility issue. But this one actually calls into question the type of HTML being generated for menu proxies. In particular, when using a menu proxy, the output appears to create in...

Accessibilty Support for Side Navigation Skins at High Zoom
We are hitting an accessibility compliance issue with our HTML 5 help that uses the side navigation skins, and it's not clear to me if there is any valid work around. What I have found is with the side navigation skin we have, there are the TOC elements on the left, and then we also have a header ar...

Re: Define the title for the default htm file
Thanks I'll give build events a close look to see if I can work these to fit my needs.

Re: Define the title for the default htm file
Why does the default output file need a title? I'm assuming you're using HTML5 output with either a Side nav or Top nav skin. If so, then you never stay on the default output page, as it immediately opens your initial help topic. (It's slightly different for the Tripane skin, but that does actually...

Define the title for the default htm file
One accessibility requirement is that all topics are titled. What is currently driving me crazy is that the default output file, which we name index.html seems to have no way to define the title properly. First, there seems to be no way to define the title for this file within MadCap Flare itself. S...

Code Blocks for responsive online help
What styles are the best styles to use to format large blocks of code in HTML5 output? I have tried to use the pre styles. However, I noticed that if I resize the screen for the help, any text in a pre style does not automatically wrap. Instead a horizontal scroll bar is included to scroll to view t...

HTML5 Skin versus Target Breakpoints
We have been creating HTML5 Tripane skins recently. One topic that is quite confusing is the breakpoint widths for Desktop (Web), Tablet, and Mobile. I have been reading up on it here: http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare2017r2/Content/Responsive-Web-Design/Flare/Responsive-Skins.htm Two things that...

Search Label for HTML5 output
How can I define the label for the search input form included in the HTML5 output? I am getting an accessibility features warning that there is no form label. Within the skin I cannot find any way to define a label for this form. There is information on defining labels for forms within topic content...

Re: Specifying the language in the <HTML> Tag for Accessibil
I have started to run into similar issues with some accessibility compliance as we are having to be a bit more firm in our accessibility compliance for our documentation. Are there feature/bug tickets available that I could vote on? I'd be more than happy to add my name to the list of interested par...

Localizing FrameMaker and maintaining markers
I am just in my initial testing phases of using Lingo to help localize some documentation created in FrameMaker. I import the .book file and it seems this imports all the required files as usual. I copied the source to target just as a test. After this I export the results into a new FrameMaker proj...
