Exclude terms from translation
I have several terms in my document that should not be translated. Specifically: product and company names, folder structures and directory paths, and code strings. How do I tell Lingo which terms should always be in the original language and never translated?

Re: autonumbered paragraphs have borders in web output
Thanks for the suggestions. My Heading 1 class has a border, but nothing else. And I don't think my tables have borders. I haven't gotten that far in my template making (it was really urgent for a few minutes then it wasn't, now it is again). But I usually use tables to align text and turn off borde...

Need the Seach MadCap User Guide PDF
I'm trying to setup/tweak search and can't access the MadCap Search user guide pdf. I only see that the 2019 version is coming soon, which is lovely. but I need something to use until that is available. Where can I find a copy of the 2018 version so I'm not blocked?

Re: Certain fonts not found in Internet Explorer
We had a similar issue with our docs. We were told to use Segoe UI, which is not available on Macs. Any of our help viewed on a Mac showed times roman (and we never figured out why it picked times roman as a default). We got around it by creating a font family for our help and defined it as "Se...

Re: Missing toolbar buttons in search results
I'm also using a topic toolbar in my master page. Flare generated the default Search.html and used the master page that I have defined, but it did not read in the topic toolbar. Any thing else I put in the master page - text, graphics, whatever - all appeared on the generated search results page. Ju...

autonumbered paragraphs have borders in web output
Hi I'm making auto-number formats for lists that may have multiple things (paragraphs/graphics/tables) in each item (item 1 might have a graphic, item 2 might have a step response [the blah window is shown], etc.). Just as an exercise/alternate to inserting multiple <p></p> inside each list item. I ...

Re: Topics titles (h1eadings) in pdf are not following h1 fo
Ok, now that I get what the advanced setting on targets is doing, I set my H1 and H2 headings in the @media print to have a border underneath and the correct font size. That seems to create the output that I want.

Re: Topics titles (h1eadings) in pdf are not following h1 fo
If "following the TOC levels" is set, and I set my h2s in the @media print part of the .css to the size and border type that I want an H1 to be, will that create the output that I want?

Re: Topics titles (h1eadings) in pdf are not following h1 fo
Ok, that almost worked. It made all of my H1 headings chapters. I want a chapter that has several H1s in it, each H1 with a line under it. I'm doing structured writing/pseudo DITA, where I have collections of topics, each topic it's own file and level 1 heading. I want a chapter "User Scenarios...

Topics titles (h1eadings) in pdf are not following h1 format
I created a project with H1 headings that have 18pt font and a border under each H1 heading. They appear fine in preview and in HTML5. They do not appear in PDF output, however. The type size drops to the Heading 2 type size and there is no border under the heading. I remember one of the training vi...
