Re: Is Google Tag Manager possible in 2021?
Here’s how I place GTM in Flare. Place the following in the page head. /**/(function(w,d,s,l,i){w[l]=w[l]||[];w[l].push({'gtm.start': new Date().getTime(),event:'gtm.js'});var f=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0], j=d.createElement(s),dl=l!='dataLayer'?'&l=...

Re: Search in the form of questions not working
Here's another idea for dealing with the issue. In one documentation set I regularly use the phrase “How to…”. I used the *Auto-index editor* to add an index term “how do I” each time it comes across the phrase “How to”. By adding it as an index term, it will be added to the topic and thus be recogn...

Re: Flare and Apple's new processors
I would value Mac-based Flare too, as my entire workflow is Mac-based. I run Parallels and Windows purely to run Flare. However, I'd be very surprised were MadCap to undertake such a port. Ports of this kind can be company killers. My current production Mac is 2.5 years old. I'll get at least anothe...

I wouldn't be without support.
I truly value the feature updates, and have found that MadCap have fixed at least one bug I've reported in each of the last three or four releases.

Re: Google Analytics issue - site search has no results
If you're interested in tracking what people are searching for, you use q as the query parameter. If you're interested in tracking what search results people are clicking on, you can track Highlight. But if you do track Highlight, then it'll interfere with your ability to get clean stats on the page...

If you're wanting to print all topics, you're by far better off having your users print the PDF.

Re: Multi-volume project problems
It's now a decade after this first post. Is there any way to insert cross-references between “volumes” or within a “multi-book” set within a project, such that: - Insert a cross-reference - Flare conditionally displays book or volume name/identifier within the cross reference if the reference crosse...

Mini TOC with more levels than TOC Proxy?
I'm generating to PDF and have checked "Use TOC depth for heading levels". I want to make my TOC Proxy show 2 heading levels, while making my mini-TOCs show 4 levels. (Is this possible? If so, how?) What I've tried H1 through H4 have their corresponding mc-heading-level attribute set to 1 ...

Re: Aligning breadcrumbsProxy and topicToolbarProxy
I would play with the dimensions to see if the toolbar is being set off-screen or check the stylesheet to see whether you're setting display: none. If neither suggestion sheds any light, feel free to post a sample project.

Re: Aligning breadcrumbsProxy and topicToolbarProxy
Hi Andrew I'm pretty sure this is the effect you're wanting to achieve. Breadcrumbs aligned left, toolbar aligned right, both aligned horizontally. TT Proxy Aligned with BC Proxy.jpg To do this, set your Master Page resources up like so: Master Page.png Then add a toolbar skin, and configure it to a...

Re: Pasting mixed English and Hebrew text
Hi ChoccieMuffin
I did try your suggestion of applying a span.Hebrew using Times New Roman font before I made the initial post. It didn't provide the solution to the issue, in that it displayed exactly the same characters as was displayed using the EB Garamond font.

Re: Publishing to the root of an SFTP destination
Turns out you can't publish to the root directory. Fortunately for me, I actually wasn't in the "root" but in the SFTP's default folder. The default folder is named "public" and is the location I was wanting to deposit the default.htm file. Turns out the solution was to set the F...

Publishing to the root of an SFTP destination
Hi I have had no problems publishing to a destination that resides in a sub-directory. However, I'm at a loss for what to place in the Destination/Directory field for a Destination in which the appropriate location is the root directory. The Directory field will not allow me to leave it blank. I've ...

Re: Adding higher levels to breadcrumb path
Thanks, Dave! You're right. The CSS did work in 2018 by: 1. Wrapping the breadcrumb proxy in my own div. 2. Wrapping the "higher level" breadcrumb in a span to style it identically to the proxy styling. 3. Setting div.nocontent and div.MCBreadcrumbsBox_0 to display: inline-block in the sty...

Re: Adding higher levels to breadcrumb path
For the record, using this technique in Flare 2018 with the SideNav skin seems not to work because the breadcrumb proxy always renders on the next line (despite display: inline-block being set). Dave Lee's javascript solution does work nicely though!

Re: Image as a link to a topic
Hi heathe_bean The recommendation is correct. You create a topic in your TOC that contains child topics. Then you insert either a mini-TOC proxy or a menu proxy . The following image shows how it can be done. TOC Proxies.png And here's the output: http://www.franchisecloudsolutions.com/fcs-manuals/s...

I can rule out the idea that a file didn't upload by: 1. Generating a local version of the target with synchronization switched on. 2. Re: Breakage in some navigation menu items when synchronizin
Psider's observations are on the money. As Psider intuits, those two topics are in the same target and have the same setting turned on. The navigation link breaks on some topics but not others within the same TOC and target. Switching the setting on and off on subsequent generations causes those sam...

Re: Online targets throwing "Object reference not set..."
Well, somewhat disconcertingly, a reboot was all that was needed to fix this. Bit of a mystery as to what might have caused the issue though.
