Embedded multimedia - Opening Flare topic takes a very long time
Hi, We use some topics that contain a lot of embedded multimedia, which are all external links to Vimeo videos. Those topics are a library of video material, and can offer over 50 inserted embedded multimedia links in a single Flare topic. When opening such a topic, it takes a very long time to load...

Menu proxy : remove empty headers?
Hi, is there a possibility to remove empty headers from the menu proxy, for example through a script ? See attached screenshot - the one marked with a red border is an empty <h2></h2> tag. For now, when we notice this, we remove those empty tags, and rebuild the output. But it's error-prone; it woul...

CSS error - Bad token in selector: @media
Hi, When previewing a topic from my project, I get this error : Line: 4646. Char: 0. Bad token in selector: @media The preview is shown correctly though. And also, the html5 output is correct, works fine. So any ideas why the error pops up? It's annoying :( . Attached a screenshot of the part of the...

Hi, this doesn't seem to work any longer? (in Flare 2022 r2) We're using side navigation - tried to add a styleclass as mentioned here (tried both side navigation & top navigation) : https://www.madcapsoftware.com/blog/enhance-top-navigation-menus-separators-madcap-flare/ But it doesn't appear i...

Re: How to hide Micro Content on specific search terms?
In the properties of the search phrase, is the use of conditions an option or perhaps deselecting the check box in the properties Include micro content in search results ? The problem is that deselecting that checkbox or setting conditions, it results in either being shown in the search results all...

How to hide Micro Content on specific search terms?
Hi, Let's say the following example : In the HTML5 output we search for 'content'. => Result > ALL micro content (limited to 3 in our case) containing 'content' is shown, including 'blabla content', 'content blabla', 'to blabla this content'. We don't want those micro contents to be shown when searc...

Issues with Spell Check window
I've added a list of characters as 'words' in the spell check dictionary, so they would be allowed and not flagged as spelling errors. But they still show up as being 'Repeated words'. Does anyone know how to solve this? - We do need those (so "don't use them" is not an option). - Also, di...

Link different Targets to different Search Results pages
Hi, is there a way to define the topic to link to when a user clicks on the 'search submit button' in HTML5 output? I've set up multiple custom Search Results pages. - Target 1 links to Search Results Skin 1, that is used in Search Results Page 1. - Target 2 links to Search Results Skin 2, that is u...

Content not shown in Micro Content on Search results page
Hi everyone, I've created Micro Content with phrases and a response, containing text, links, and an image. In the HTML Target, under Featured Snippets, the filter has been set to 'All micro content files', with max 3. After building and viewing the output, and searching for one of the phrases, the M...

Search returning no results in Chrome 84
Hi, As of Chrome 84, some users seem to have issues when using the Madcap Search functionality in our HTML5 Flare output. It returns no results, whatever they search on. My thoughts/suggestions were that a plugin/extension could be blocking it. But the users disabled all of those, and still no resul...

Re: HTML5 build output CSS-related issue due to 2019 r2 upgr
It wasn't an issue before, so for some reason the CSS-class changed due to the Flare update.
So it's related to the update, but I was able to fix it myself by the change in our own CSS file.

Re: HTML5 build output CSS-related issue due to 2019 r2 upgr
I've found the solution.
The 'calc' css-part was already in our css file, but apparently the previously used class changed.
It was in 'section.main-section', and now is in '.main-section'
Updating this in our css file, solves the issue.

HTML5 build output CSS-related issue due to 2019 r2 upgrade
Hi, I've just upgraded to Flare 2019 r2. When building HTML5 output now, the output looks different. In detail : the scrollbar in the browser (Chrome) now goes over our top navigation (TOC), which wasn't the case before. As a result, clicking links to bookmarks/headers in any topic, will jump to tha...

Bump for this topic, as I'm searching the same thing. How to add a tooltip to the search INPUT FIELD and/or FILTER ICON? In the Skin editor, there's 'Search Input > Placeholder' and 'Search Submit Button > Tooltip', but not 'Search Input > Tooltip'. Is there any way to add/use something like this?

Adding/removing list items with change tracker on issue
We use the change tracker for our Flare projects, as we need to be able to put our HTML5 output online before, after and during editing of our topics in the projects. But now we've noticed that with the change tracker on, adding/removing list items from a bulleted list, results in the HTML5 output t...

Re: Combine 2 navigation panes : TOP + LEFT ?
Thank you for the info! Flare doesn't offer a way to display both top navigation menu and side navigation menus together. But you can have a top nav menu (i.e. main menu position - Top), and have a menu proxy on the side. You can see this layout in Flare's own help, and the Top Navigation templates ...

Combine 2 navigation panes : TOP + LEFT ?
Hi,
Is it possible to combine 2 navigation panes; 1 on top + 1 on the side?
As it's only possible to select 1 skin for my target and the skin has 1 'main menu position' (top, left or right).
So I wonder if and how this can be done?
Thanks.

On-leave event (delay) for top nav menu items?
Hi all,
Is there an easy way to add events (eg. via javascript/stylesheet) to add delays on a top navigation menu when exiting on-hover menu items, so they are not immediately gone when the mouse cursor is no longer hovering on the menu(item)
