Publishing a Flare HTML project on Confluence
I need to publish an HTML project on Confluence but the owner of our corporate confluence documentation publishing platform says that I cannot upload html pages, create directories and so on. So the only way that I can think of doing it is to recreate the pages individually as Confluence pages. An I...

Syntax rejection issues with HTML encoding in text editor
Yesterday I tried insert a mailto link with a subject and body tag; it was rejected by the Flare syntax editor. This was what I was trying to get past the syntax checker: mailto:customerservice@madcapsoftware.com?Subject=Support%20Request&body=My%20Support%20Key The error was: '=' Is an unexpect...

Link needed to a user's post
I want to link to my own posts, or a colleagues posts, but the link is local: https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/search.php?search_id=egosearch So obviously not portable. I also I can't see myself in the members list. The jump link to the letter of the alphabet is broken. I don't remember when I join...

Pt vs em, px, etc
I'm setting up a Flare doc for use as a template and my manager suggests we choose 10 pt as the default font size but in Flare this is set in em units by default, and this setting is inherited from somewhere, from where I am not sure. What are members thoughts on setting font-size in the body, to po...

Hi everyone, I'm using CSS to automatically number my images (see below) but some of the images have links wrapped around them, so actually I want the Figure + number inserted after the link, in those cases, is there any way to do this? body { counter-reset: figure; /* set a counter called figure to...

Re: Best approach for Syntax highlighting
Hi CDschroeder, I installed prism and it worked perfectly, or at least I thought it did...I can see it working in HTML preview mode, but when I output, the effect is lost...any ideas? Hmm, that's odd. You are generating HTML5 (top nav/tripane/side nav) output, correct? (not to be confused with HTML...

Best Approach to Templating
I'm trying to set up a company template for technical documentation, it has to be easy to use. I want this to be easy to use for other writers who are not very familiar with Flare. What is the best way to do this - should I create a new project, and then import the template? This copies all the Cont...

Re: Best approach for Syntax highlighting
What type of output are you generating? I use prism.js for HTML5 output and it works beautifully. It just doesn't work for printed output (but neither will any other JS solution). Re: Keeping formatting when pasting text to text editor
What works for me is this: 1. Create a new paragraph and assign the <pre> style to it. That means it will preserve the formatting as set, including any spaces and line breaks. 2. Copy and paste the code into that <pre> block. Flare will insert the code as a bunch of <p>'s. 3. Immediately look for t...

I am using the analyser to remove duplicate styles, but it is painstaking because there are many instances of the same style in a stylesheet and no way to tell which one is duplicated. Is there any way to speed up this process?

Keeping formatting when pasting text to text editor
When I paste text, in this case code, the indenting gets lost. I get round this by editing the topic file in Sublime text.
Is there a setting which forces Flare to keep the original formatting?

Re: Pasting text to XML editor - unwanted <p> tags
If you really do want line feeds rather than new paragraphs, I suspect you're going to have to do a search-and-replace exercise. What are you copying the text from in the first place? If THAT has paragraphs rather than line feeds, then Flare is just doing what you told it to do. Well, for example, ...
