Thanks so much. I'll give that method a try.

Want to add a Toolbar option to a skin
Hello all. Simple question and I hope there's a simple answer. The skin I'm working with currently lacks a Toolbar tab as shown in the image below, skin on the left. I'd like to add this feature to the skin on the right. Can it be done? FYI, I just want to be able to add a print button at the top of...

Re: Can I change the default size settings for inserted imag
Excellent. Thanks. This seems to work very well. my basic img class remains unchanged, but I now have an "autosize" subclass of it that's very easy to assign. And as you guessed, only most of the image will require this property. Some will be relatively small, so having those appear at 90%...

Can I change the default size settings for inserted images?
Hi all. This question applies to Flare 2019. I can't seem to find information on this. I'd like to reset the default size settings of images added in my topics. Right now, the default Width = "(default)" and Height = "(default)", which I assume means true size. I'd love to have t...

Re: Skins and Fonts and Cross-OS compability - SOLVED
Thanks Psider. Yes, correct, I only changed p so far. Speaking of inheritance, I inherited this project and CSS from previous authors on this job. So it's mostly how I found it. I am not seeing any grayed values in Advanced View, so that there isn't any inheritance of attributes among these styles. ...

Re: Skins and Fonts and Cross-OS compability - SOLVED
Okay, since I did the above and nothing blew up, I assume it's the way to go. So, would it be the smart thing to just duplicate this everywhere that Calibri has been specified? Granted there are more styles in my CSS than I will ever use in my current project.

Re: Skins and Fonts and Cross-OS compability - SOLVED
Thanks. Okay, so just to make it very clear to me... let's say I want to do as you describe with the 'p' style. You are saying to modify the font-family as indicated below?

Re: Skins and Fonts and Cross-OS compability - SOLVED
Weird, it was actually easier than I thought it was. In the Skin editor, I just added the list of fonts, separated by commas into the various fields. I honestly don't know why it hadn't worked earlier. The hidden gotcha was any master pages that had special in-line font adjustments. Had to adjust t...

Re: Need advice on duplicating this page look and feel
Yes! That's actually what gave me my start the other day. I downloaded the "Medical Office Policy and Procedure Manual Template". Then I copied over and began modifying its skin. Looks great so far.

Need advice on duplicating this page look and feel
Hi all. Does Flare (2018 R2) have a baked-in skin or stylesheet or template for producing this look below? Or at least a something close that I might be able to tweak? My employer is interesting in our company using it for a site. I am not sure where I can go to peruse the available skins, etc. Exam...

Output file used as a source/original .htm topic?
Win10 running Flare 2018 and 2018 r2: I had a disastrous thing happen to me this morning. I was editing one of my key content files when my machine locked up. Then I got that stupid blue screen. Then it rebooted. After relaunching Flare it would not open my file. Said it wasn't an XML file, asked me...

Re: What are the rules/restrictions when creating drop-downs
Meh. I dunno. I closed the topic and reopened it, made a few changes to a couple of other sections, and then tried again. This time Drop-Text was enabled and I could do it. Go figure.

What are the rules/restrictions when creating drop-downs?
I can't find anything about this in Madcap's Online Help. In some circumstances Flare won't let me create a drop-down (using the Ribbon). I'll select a heading for instance, plus some paragraphs below, and then the Drop-down Text button becomes disabled. I can't understand why. Flare doesn't like so...

Re: Flare is opening files from another project automaticall
Hello again. I think that trick of deleting Analyzer and Output in both projects worked. I did this, and then the next time I opened the problematical project, no outside topics opened with it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Awesome. Thank you! That works perfect. I only need to do it to about 12 docs. It'll be a snap.

Re: Flare is opening files from another project automaticall
Thank you. I will try deleted those directories.
FWIW, I think the one file I brought over from the older project to this new one---the one that's having this strange issue---is the .css stylesheet. I wanted the new project to have the same look. At least for now.

Re: Flare is opening files from another project automaticall
Thanks! Didn't get a response right away and then just forgot about this thread. Thanks for replying. Keeps happening but only with one of the project's I'm working with. So it's okay to blow away the Output and Analyzer folders. I wasn't sure about that. I will try it. EDIT : BTW, did you mean blow...

Re: Include .html files without "building" them?
Thanks. Yeah I was comparing the two files yesterday. Not through a text editor but through "view source" in the browser. That's why I was thinking, sure would be nice if Flare didn't make a bunch of changes. Maybe the styles are incompatible. That's why I was asking if it's possible to ex...

Include .html files without "building" them?
Can Flare be set to include .html files (that I've added to the project) in the output without actually "building" them? Here is the situation: I have some Gov't spec .html files that I want to use in my project; link topic text to them and so on. When the original files are opened, say fr...

Re: Links to external sites aren't opening those sites
Figured it out. I can manually add target="_blank" to the hyperlinks. I still feel like these links worked correctly at some point previous. Oh well.

Links to external sites aren't opening those sites
Maybe this is a silly question, but if I insert a hyperlink in a topic, once published as HTML5 shouldn't that link open a new browser window or tab at least, and load the linked site? In our Help project I have hyperlinks in topics to various external sites, mostly Gov't sites. It's just been broug...

Re: Build fails - Because output file access is denied?
Well.... I did find a difference between the two 'systems' though I cannot explain it. I decided to have a close look at that multimedia file, which appears in the output of both targets. Looking at the security permissions it's obvious that somehow, SOMEHOW, I lost Read/admin permissions for this p...
