Field-level Context-Sensitive Help

Hi, I need to create field-level CSH -- user clicks icon next to GUI field and a pop-up window displays the help. Question: How do I define the pop-up window in which the help appears? Or is this done by the developers? 1. I created a micro-content file and from topics, inserted selected content int...

Adding credentials to view specific HTML page

Hi,

Is it possible to allow the viewing of a specific topic (HTML page) in a published Web target by prompting the reader to enter a password?

Thanks

Re: Meta tag description -- required?

Thanks Dave for the explanation!

If I want the browser tab to also include our company name (for example, "Configuring Bots - MyCompany"), how would I do this?

Meta tag description -- required?

Hi I understand that web browsers automatically use H1 of HTML files (topics) as the meta tag description? Does this mean it would be superfluous to manually add a meta tag description per HTML file (I have over 1,000 topics!)? Another issue: The meta tag "title" doesn't seem to work. This...

Creating a Topic that Lists All Parameters

Hi,

I would like to add a topic that simply lists all configuration parameters. It would be very similar to an Index, but located within a chapter.
Is there an easy way to design it like an index page -- i.e., alphabetical grouping of the parameters ?

any ideas?

Re: Variable for toolbar Download PDF button HTML5

Thanks Dave for your response. I understand what you are saying. Actually this is the custom script that the designers original added to the HTML5Tripane skin for the toolbar. I can see where the PDF is called from ("Content/PDFs/' + pdfUr;") but not sure about what the PDF name is - see b...

Variable for toolbar Download PDF button HTML5

My HTML5 output has a "Download PDF" button on the toolbar. I need to have a variable that sets the URL to the PDF on the button per Target. The place to define this and where it works for static URLs is in the HTML5 skin: Styles tab > Topic group > Download > Event field: window.open(&quo...

Lists with images in sentences are lowered from number

Hi, I have a number list. Some numbered steps have images in their sentences. For example: 1. Click the <image> icon, and then from the shortcut menu, choose Create VM. Problem: In the HTML output, as the image height is slightly greater than the text height, it lowers the entire line (to provide sp...

Re: Increase Distance Between Table Caption Number and Text

I worked it out! Very easy: Select the style in Flare, right-click and choose Properties. Then under the Paragraph tab, increase the length in the Left field in the Indentation group IGNORE above! it didn't work! Flare claims that all that needs to be done is add spaces after colon in the mc-autonum...

Push-Pull GIT Failure Security Keys on New PC

Hi, Got a new PC. Installed latest 2019 Flare. Copied Flare project from old PC to new PC into folder with same drive letter (D). Local Commit works ok. Re: Push failure - Flare is changing an email address in Git

OUR GIT expert solved it: 2. Access Flare project directory, right-click empty > Git Bash: 3. Paste the following into the Git Bash (below credentials must be identical to what appears in Gerrit): git config --global user.name "<Your User Name>" git config --global user.email <your email>

HTML5 build failed "10086" - solution

I was getting this 10086 error when building an HTML5 target. The problem was eventually discovered by a Flare distributor = I added a Google Analytics code in the ac_MasterPage.flmsp file, which caused the problem. Flare does not like their tag "async=". To resolve it, change the syntax t...
