Insert a special character
I am trying to insert the divide-by math symbol instead of using the "/" character in a table cell. I added the character (List icon > Custom Format > Create Custom Format, clicked the special character icon), but when inserting it, the message: "At this time, custom list formats are ...

Re: Close button for HTML5 skin
David,
Thank you for your answers. I will discuss what you said with the developer. I believe opening a separate window is a good approach and will hopefully allow the Close button to be added because it will be in a separate window.
Thanks again,
Jim

Re: Close button for HTML5 skin
David, Thank you for your answer and for your insightful question. I have been asked to include a Close button on each CSH web page. People from a wide range of backgrounds and computer literacy will be accessing the CSH. If there is not something indicating how to close the CSH, the support team wi...

Close button for HTML5 skin
I have a HTML5 Top Navigation skin for web-based Help.
I have been asked to include a Close button on each topic page.
Where would I find steps on adding a Close button?
I can't find any details describing such a process.

Re: Saving word output...
Success! The Word build completed. The problem was outside of Flare. An obscure application, which will remain unnamed, used for classifying files was launched, but was not visible on the Windows Task bar. Tabbing through the open application windows showed it was active. After making the required s...

Re: Saving word output...
Nita, Thank you for your answer and logical troubleshooting approach. I have only 1 "inherited" project, so I cannot verify if Word builds successfully for another project. Because I have never has a successful Word build, I do not know what to look for in the Log File. The only thing I se...

Re: Saving word output...
Nita, Thank you for your response. To answer your question, no, I did not select to embed images in the Word file. The PDF that I did get to successfully build is 33 pages, so my guess is that a successful Word build will be about 33 pages too. So, I do not think the build should take too long. Is t...

Saving word output...
This subject is similar to a topic from 2011, but does not involve a mini TOC. Being the second content author on an existing project, I keep finding new issues, such as building a User Guide in Word format. The Builds pane shows the Status as Running, the State as Building, Build Progress and Compl...

Re: Access to the path is denied
All builds now complete and status is Finished. The problem, other than ignorance on my part, was not knowing where the "residual" from the previous content author existed. Clicking Select Targets to Build showed me what I didn't know was what needed fixing. I selected all the targets to B...

Re: Access to the path is denied
False jubilation. For the selected build target, even though it indicated the build was successful (Status=Finished and State=Build Complete) the Output folder had my username folder and a mclog for the selected build. Opening that log file showed the following LogEntry text under Errors: "Proj...

Re: Access to the path is denied
ChoccieMuffin, Thank you for your directions. You were right, devjoe did answer my question. I just did not realize the depth of what was written. Taking over a project has created some interesting consequences. The crux of the issue was that the Output Folder path entry (of the Target Editor, with ...

Re: Access to the path is denied
Joedev, Thank you for your answer. Yes there is an Output folder and it does have a folder for each output build attempted. As mentioned, the build is failing due to access to the path (has the original Writer's username in the path) is denied. So, not knowing what I was/am doing, I moved that folde...

Access to the path is denied
Being new to Flare, I took over a project and tried to build a PDF of the topics for review. It didn't build. The message was: Build failed: Compiler: Failed to create the output folder. Access to the path "C:\Users\...' is denied. Note: The previous project writer's user name is in the path li...
