Analyzing use of glossary terms

Hello, all! I'm looking for a way to easily analyze how glossary terms are used throughout an existing (HTML5) project I've inherited. I know I can look at the glossary files themselves to see some info, but what I'm really interested in is seeing how many glossary terms are used, in which (or how ...

Re: Adding Feedback widget to topics

In that code, you are constructing an email. There are three parameters being provided: mailto (the email address you want the feedback sent to), Subject (for the Subject line), and Body (the content of the email). The subject and body can be anything you want. %20 represents a space. The sample ...

Re: Adding Feedback widget to topics

We have a "FEEDBACK" link on the bottom of all our help topics, which sends an email to us with the comments. It's most commonly used internally by colleagues noticing something simple (like a typo or punctuation error), but sometimes external clients do use it.

The code used for it is this ...

Re: Apply colors to tiles

Hi, Aripta.

You'll want to use the internal text editor (or another text editor) to open the stylesheet StylesForHomePage.css and locate the section that begins with the comment /*++Home Tiles section==*/

To apply styles (like background colors) to each tile, find the block that defines that tile ...

Re: Giving Menu Proxies Titles

hmenu is a header style defined in my css specifically for these menu proxies. ( H eader Menu )

Let it suffice to say that the behavior that I've been able to achieve isn't what I want, and I'd like to know whether there's a way to define a title within (or attached to) the menu proxy itself.

Dave ...

Giving Menu Proxies Titles

I've got a menu proxy set up in my master page, and I've found a way to give them titles BUT I'm really displeased by the result I've got so far.

Is there a way to give menu proxies titles?

Right now, I have the menu proxy set up in its own column along the right-hand side of my screen. I've set ...

Re: Sample Code Interpreted as Bad HTML

That may be another huge difference between the Text Editor and the XML Editor, then.

I author primarily in the Text Editor, and only hop into the XML Editor if I'm forced to to access functionality that's excluded from the Text Editor.

I'll have to give it a try in the XML Editor and see whether ...

Re: Sample Code Interpreted as Bad HTML

The <pre> tag helps with almost everything - but it won't fix this problem when it comes to < and >.

What is the solution for < and > symbols that must appear in sample code as text?

Re: Footer Width

Can anyone offer any more clarity regarding what these classes are? After applying this fix, I'm so close to realizing a fully-functional result. This will really bring it all the way across the line for me.

If it helps, I'm working with HTML5 side-nav output in Flare 2018 (not r2).

Re: Footer Proxy for HTML5 output

Nita, you do make snippets sound very flexible and powerful. I've been wondering what their intent/use was since my first day with Flare - but the provided doc didn't explain it in a way that I understood.

I see how snippets could provide for PDF/print footers, but I still have some reservations ...

Re: Footer Proxy for HTML5 output

Ok, after looking into this, I do not see how a snippet will solve my footer problem. Snippets appear to only hold text, while the footer is a complex arrangement of text and formatting.

Can anyone help me see the light?

Footer Proxy for HTML5 output

I've been handed styling and content requirements for a footer to be added to each page of our HTML5 doc output . While I have the style successfully in our stylesheet, I'm flummoxed as to how to write the footer content once and insert it into all pages. (Obviously I want to avoid a solution that ...

Re: Configure style to not indent even when in list items

Thanks, Dee. I'll have to try this!

I'm a firm believer in taking the time to build a framework that supports "ease of use" down the line, and time spent creating these styles will surely pay for itself in time (and stress) saved later.

Re: Configure style to not indent even when in list items

Dave, are you saying there's a way to format my content such that the code blocks show up where they're supposed to (this example illustrates this step) without letting the list indent them?

As far as I've seen, both <ol><li>List item one
<pre><code>this is my code sample</code></pre></li>

Re: Configure style to not indent even when in list items

I understand that the codeblock is being indented because of its presence in the list. I included Prism's CSS because the fix I was looking for likely belonged in the CSS that defined the codeblock. I'll have to give your suggestion a try. Thanks!

However, I'm hoping there's a way to address it ...

Configure style to not indent even when in list items

I've been beating my head against this for a bit now and hope someone out there has some ideas.

I have codeblocks that illustrate steps in an ordered list, which are embedded within the list item they illustrate. However, the codeblock keeps indenting with the list level, which is not the look we ...

Re: How to Display TOC with H2 levels expanded

Depending on how you have created your side menu, this may be simple (or very difficult).

If you're using a Menu Proxy to create your left pane TOC, then there's a configuration setting called Context Sensitive that, if turned off, should allow you to accomplish what you want.

If you're using the ...

Re: Adding clickable links to Header area

Sorry - I see now where I wasn't clear.

I literally don't know where to put the styling. Does it go in <div id="header-links">? I'm confused regarding how to style the link position relative to the header area (I could make it bold or change its color no problemo). I don't understand how that HTML ...

Re: Replace accordion menu in Side Nav with a static TOC lis

I think you're right, Dave.

I know it's hard to suggest alternate solutions when another user's ideal path isn't possible (like in my case, where the functionality I'm asking about simply doesn't exist in the place I want it to). I appreciate the effort.
