Try Window > Reset Layout. I just had a problem with the Preview Window being pegged to the top of the screen, such that I couldn't move it. Maybe it got minimized beyond your reach. This worked for me, don't know how I undid things, but it was zero fun to have a non-functioning Preview but topics ...
