Pages Not Breaking at Start of Topics
In one of my books, I'm not getting page breaks in PDF at the start of topics. Each begins with the same kind of H1 paragraph as in other documents using the same stylesheet for which the breaks do work, with page-break-before set to "always". I'm not spotting a difference in the TOC docum...

Re: Flare to Wordpress Integration/Export
Is anyone else dealing with this? Our management is thinking of dumping Flare because of its inability to integrate with WordPress, on which the rest of our web presence depends. Are there any solutions?

Flare inserting extraneous tabs and breaking PDF
We're developing and documenting software for a system that still uses character-based screens. Our system outputs screen images as tables within HTML files. I then have to incorporate them in the documentation. (Exporting them to graphics then back in isn't an option, since we want the screen conte...

Changing the indentation method of an existing TOC
I built a large manual with hundreds of topics, trying to use the HTML elements (h1, h2) to determine the indentation on the printed TOC. I now see that I should just have used the indentation in the TOC file to determine the indentation in print. Is there a way to change this?

Contents Email widget for reviewers
Is there a way to include something on each page of an HTML manual distributed for review with which reviewers can enter (and, ideally, email) comments on a page, retaining the information of the page they're from? I'm guessing that it would go on the master page, and would be removed or disabled wh...

Is there a way to rename multiple files at once without breaking their links? For example, I have a lot of files named "Setting Additional Controls..." that I would like to rename to "Setting Additional Firewall Controls..." I know that I can easily do Find and Replace within the...

"Paste HTML" destroys spaces
When we bring in bits of HTML via "Paste HTML", instances of multiple underscored non-breaking spaces, such as <u> </u> become a single normal space: <u> </u> This completely messes up the content. We have literally hundreds of instances of this. Is there a fix?

Putting Variable in Breadcrumb Prefix
I would like to put the name of the manual in the breadcrumb prefix so that it would read, for example: You are here in the Firewall manual: or You are here in the Audit manual: Elsewhere, I use a variable, ProductName, for this, but don't see how to include it within the breadcrumb prefix. Can it b...

Narrow monospace typeface for wide ASCII screenshots in PDF?
The software we're documenting uses character-based displays rather than graphics for most things (yes, extremely old school). We convert these into HTML to display as screenshots in our HTML and PDF output. After some struggles, we have this working pretty well with one exception: We're trying to r...

Re: Stylesheet Setting Ignored
Thank you! I went through your suggestions in order, and it looks like this was the problem. There are so many places that these things can be set that I didn't think to look at that high a level.bunnycat wrote: And 3) check on what stylesheet use is set on the Flare project itself.

Stylesheet Setting Ignored
This, too, should be simple.
I have set the Master Stylesheet for a Target to "Main".
When click "Edit Style" for a paragraph, it opens an old Stylesheet, "Documentation".
How do I get Flare to edit the Stylesheet that I had specified?

Re: Creating Table Classes
Rather than create a separate table style for tables within lists, you can nest a table inside a list item and then apply the table style you already have. Unless you’re using unusual alignments for your list items, a table within a list item will align with the list item’s content, rather than bei...

Re: Creating Table Classes
I'm not sure I'm following. Usually, a class contains styles, not the other way around. When you apply a class to a div or an element you are applying the styles defined within that class. You can define a class in your stylesheet by using the following declaration: .class { css declarations; } I c...

Creating Table Classes
I would like to create a class within a table style that would inherit everything about the style except for specific parameters (In this case, the table margins). I can see how to select an existing class, but not how to create one. I think I've seen a "Create Table Class" item show up in...

Stylesheet Changes Being Destroyed
I've been making and saving changes to stylesheets in an external editor, since I find straight CSS more intelligible, and Virtual Studio Code's interface far less cryptic, than what's built into Flare. However, when I close then reopen Flare, I see that the changes that I have made have reverted to...

Keyboard Macros in Flare on Windows?
I've started using AutoHotKey with Flare, which saves a lot of keystrokes in doing things that are strictly keyboard based. Are there known ways to use it for tasks that involve selecting from menus? For example, I'd like to be able to set a selection to a particular style of span with a keystroke. ...

This is what comes from diving into major projects without any Flare training other than watching videos. I'm trying your workf...

This might be the most basic of questions, but I'm not getting it. We have a wide array of products. I'm trying to keep them in a single project so I can reuse stylesheets, snippets, and the like among them. We have products named "Audit" and "Firewall". You start each with with ...

Hey all, I'm wondering if it is possible to merge two different stylesheets that we have been using for two different types of projects in the name of simplicity and consistency. Re: Maximum width for text paragraphs
In your main skin under Styles > Global > Size .... you will find the overriding maximum width setting. Unless I'm misunderstanding something, it doesn't do what I need. I'm using side navigation, and therefore using the "HTML5 - Side Navigation" skin. When I set Styles > Global > Size to...
