Re: Problems with Lingo and Across Language Server
I have very limited experience with Across, and have never imported from Lingo. But could the first issue be some segmentation rule mishap rather than something with the import template? Check the segmentation rules in Across. Maybe it helps to create explicit segmentation rules in Lingo too, before...

Re: The specified path, file name, or both are too long.
And a general tip: Don't use spaces in your folder or file names. A space is actually three characters (%20). If you have 4-5 spaces in every folder and file name you'll run out of space quite quickly. And, yes, it is 2023, and it is supposed to work everywhere and across all systems, but sooner or ...

Re: Which generated files (csh.js, for ex.) in HTML5 output are necessary?
Some info on some of the files at least. Hope someone else can fill in the gaps. - Default_CSH.htm : Used for context sensitive help, so if you don't use that it should be safe to remove. I read something that this file is only for backwards compatibility, so it might not be used for CSH either nowa...

Re: Folder based Lingo project
The dealbreaker seems to be that you can't exclude text based on conditions in neither folder based nor file based projects. Or does anyone know if that is possible? If yes, how?

Re: Folder based Lingo project
Too quick to draw conclusions. Turns out that you can't select a folder that contains an FLPRJ file when creating a new Lingo project ... Lingo tells you to add the FLPRJ file as a file. And since I won't be able to update the project if I select individual folders in the project I'm back to square ...

Re: Folder based Lingo project
Aha, I might be onto something! I was updating the Lingo project while I was writing the previous post, and Lingo was processing all files, so I thought all files were in the process of being added to the Lingo project. But ... it turns out that only files of the file types that were included in the...

Folder based Lingo project
I am experimenting a bit with file based and folder based Lingo projects, since I want to streamline the translation management by not including the entire Flare project. Both work well and have their pros and cons, but there is two things I don't understand about folder based projects. When I creat...

Re: Git folders
Yes. I think this is an intentional (or at least known) limitation. Only one project per repo is allowed. The workaround is to check in/out files with another tool, not from within Flare. I use GitHub Desktop to check in a number of translated projects + the Lingo project, instead of cluttering the ...

Re: Publishing to Azure blob storage
Hi, Absolutely! No problem. I had some developer help with the framework, but as soon as that's in place it is easy to modify which folders/files should be copied etc. When executing the script you will have to confirm the login to Azure. Then a DOS prompt with info on what's happening is displayed....

Re: Json Structure
Not sure I follow you, but how about copying the English source text into the value lines, and then translate the value lines? Most translation tools work this way. The source text is replaced with the target text, which means the source text needs to be in the location where you want the target tex...

Re: Is it possible to export only partial Lingo TM to TMX
Judging by the Lingo interface it should be possible to create a new TM, and then select which files should populate that TM with segments. But, since this question is old and probably no longer valid, I'd rather just chip in on what's "relevant" and not in a TM. In the translation phase t...

Re: Segmentation Rules to isolate bold text?
Don't know if this is the 'right' way to do it, but I mark all my UI terms in a span with the class "UIElement". Then advise the TX team to not translate text in those spans. In my CSS they are defined as bold text (making it easy if I decide to change from bold to a colour or something e...

Re: Bundling .props files for outsourced LSP
Just for future reference. You should be able to include the image files themselves, not the PROPS files, when creating a bundle. They can also be opened in Lingo to view the segments, like any other translatable file. Tip: Only include image files that contain segments for translation when sending ...

Just for the record, solved with a PowerShell script that does the same thing. Not as convenient as publishing from within Flare, but as smooth as a workaround can possibly get.

Re: Translate only marked strings
This is certainly something I struggle with as well... For I while I thought that Term Bases in Lingo would be the answer - it seems like the perfect use-case for a list of strings with fixed translations. Unfortunately, the translation service we use doesn't use Lingo (or, um, any professional tra...

Re: Translate only marked strings
We have a database of UI strings that we could (relatively) easily convert to a Flare variable set. However... [*] Our software is developed in an agile way, in a multitude of Git branches. In other words, there are many versions of the UI string set at the same time. [*] We document before the rel...

Publishing to Azure blob storage
Is it possible to publish directly from Flare to Azure blob storage? If yes, how? It would be nice to be able to set a destination directly to Azure, since you can use the options to only upload changed files and remove unused ones. Not to mention eliminating the risk of copying to the incorrect fol...

Re: Update Lingo proj: deleted source files remain in Lingo
Turns out you have to answer ”no” to the question about updating localised images when updating the Lingo project for image files to be deleted. If you select Yes deleted files in Flare are not removed from Lingo. This was confirmed by support.

Re: Update Lingo proj: deleted source files remain in Lingo
Just ran into the same issue. I have updated and changed a number of images, and deleting old ones in a different format. I chose to update the localised images when asked during the update of the project. The old image files are still in the Lingo project with the status Completed, since the callou...

Brilliant! Thanks a million! I only tried one of my templates so far, but it seems to work well. When checking the actual topic file based on the template, the snippet path is ”Resources/Snippets/<folder>, so no need to put ”/Content” in there. No worries about breaking it in case of moving the snip...

Re: UI accurately in MT
I would recommend using variables for the UI terms in the source language. Then replace the variable set in your translated projects with variable sets in the corresponding languages. Note that the name of the FLVAR file, and the variable names, need to be the same in all languages.
