Re: HTML5 search highlighter
Hi Scott,
Can I still get that script, assuming it will still work? I have a similar requirement for another project where we don't use Flare.

Re: HTML5 search highlighter
Thank you Scott! I see that now. That is like a hidden thing as it is not obvious in the docs for Top and Left navigation themes.

Re: HTML5 search highlighter
Hi everyone, Just wanted to mention that MadCap listened to our requests and added search highlighting to Flare V9. You can still use this script with Flare V8, but you won't need it for V9. Hi Scott, I think it is not meant for Top and Left side navigation skins. Right? Because I don't see the ...

Re: Search results topic not included in output
My guess would be that the search results topic is not being included in the target, because your target uses the setting Content to include - Content linked directly or indirectly from the target . If you use that setting, then you must have a link to the search results topic from somewhere in ...

Create PDF on the Fly for Generated HTML5 Output
Hi, I am trying to find a way to generate PDF of a topic and children pages under it from the generated HTML output. The goal is let customer/user generate the PDF on demand. I know libraries exist that let you do this with some programming but is there something that you have tried or know of ...

Re: Use of JQuery to Suppress Tooltips
CSS method is the best and easiest so far to disable tooltips.
Flare uses QTip it seems to create and display tooltips:

Re: Deep linking js error in browser console
No. Not sure if they will resolve it or when. I didn't want to take any chances so I used tocbot instead which works flawlessly and offers much better control and customizations.

Re: Deep linking js error in browser console
MadCap team reverted saying the bug has been identified and they will work on it. However, I have not received any timeline on when this will be fixed and as a patch or in a release.

Re: Deep linking js error in browser console
On diagnosing- it came out to be the menu proxy. If I use the default config for menu proxy, it works fine. But when I change it to display only headings, this error shows up. What am I doing wrong or missing?

Previous Topic & Next Topic Name
Hi, Instead of displaying only the buttons for Previous Topic and Next Topic using the topic toolbar, I want to display the name of the previous and next topic as well so that a user knows the topic name before they decide to click. How do I add the name? If there is no native method, is there a way ...

Re: Adding Feedback widget to topics
We have a "FEEDBACK" link on the bottom of all our help topics, which sends an email to us with the comments. It's most commonly used internally by colleagues noticing something simple (like a typo or punctuation error), but sometimes external clients do use it. The code used for it is this ...

Flare Tech Support is telling me to do what I have already done. So I am stuck now. The buttons work in browser only unlike TriPane where they work both in Browser and Electron.

Back and Forward Buttons Don't Work
Hi, I am trying this in Flare 2019 r2. I used the default project with SideNav skin and HTML5 output. I did this: 1. I add a topic toolbar proxy to Master Page and enable Back & Forward buttons. There is no skin selected in the options and custom style applied to the topic toolbar. I get nothing in ...

Re: V11 Skin Causing "Object reference not set" Error
I faced thesame issue with SideNav skin. The reason came out to be img tag not closing properly in the Master Page. Once I added / to > and made it />, the issue disappeared. Interestingly, I copied the original code from Tripane theme output and there it was like this but in SideNav - Flare didnt ...

Re: 2018 Sidenav skin refresh issue
I am facing similar issue with SideNav skin rendered in Electron but unable to reproduce it. It comes intermittently. Wonder what is causing it in my case. For now, I have removed an extra script from my Master Page. Let's see.
What else can cause this?
