What I have noticed is that if I make a change (even add a white space) to any topic in the project, I don't get that error...

When trying to build (or publish) a project the process aborts and I get the following error message...
System.InvalidCastException occurred at 7/01/2020 7:11:29 AM

Unable to cast object of type 'B3.CatapultProjectKit.CatapultMiscFile' to type 'B3.CatapultProjectKit.CatapultImportFile'

Rebooted ...

Thanks both for your advice. I can see I will need to take this issue back to our Java devs who built the security components.

I guess this comes under the heading of single-sourcing...
