I have created a metadata tag to assign each topic a unique ID number and would like to export it in the File List. Is it possible to add a column for metadata values?
I could use the Description to hold the ID but would prefer it to have its own field.

RESOLVED: Tables in snippets not working with Bootstrap
In a new Flare 2022 project I am working on, I am finding that snippets will strip tables of their table coding, leaving only data. The exact same table works if it's inline within the topic, but not imported through a snippet. I am using Bootstrap 5. Are others seeing this? I will submit a bug repo...

Re: Lingo reimport stalls
Update: I was able to update the project in an old version of Lingo (10.2). I currently use 2022 r2, but will see if the issue persists in 2022 r3.

Lingo reimport stalls
We have a large Flare project (2000+ topics) for which we're using Lingo to translate in Canadian French in weekly increments. This week I've tried to Update Project in Lingo but the process hangs in the Diffing phase, and I haven't been able to determine what is causing this. The last item logged i...

Publishing glossary in ServiceNow
We'd like to use the glossary terms and definitions for our ServiceNow target. Since ServiceNow requires clean XML output, which doesn't support including the JavaScript for the glossary definition popup, I'm placing the definition inline with the text, but I need to solve one or two issues: 1) Idea...

Re: Publishing to ServiceNow
I think the MadCap Flare to ServiceNow plugin workflow is based on transcribing Flare topics to ServiceNow articles and I'm not aware of a method to combine them into a single article. A possible workaround would be restructuring your current topics into snippets and adding those to a single topic t...

Re: Add multilingual support, keep the same URLs?
UPDATE: As far as I can tell there is no simple way to do this, so we scrapped the idea and use a new URL for the default en-us version.

page templates not syncing
Today my colleagues and I have discovered an issue that page templates are not being synced correctly with Github source control. Topic content is syncing, but when one person changes or removes a topic template , no one else sees the edit. I can confirm on the Github site that the template change i...

Search reserved characters
Is it possible to use MadCap search for terms including reserved characters? We want users to be able to find terms like Pro+ , but the plus sign throws an error. I'm aware that users can search using quotes, e.g., "Pro+", but the boss doesn't think that is good enough. I also tried to add...

Add multilingual support, keep the same URLs?
Is it possible to keep the directory structure of an existing Flare site while adding translated projects? Our US English policy manual is now being translated into Canadian French, but we'd like to retain the same URLs for the US site (but also use the language selector toolbar). In other words, we...

Re: Flare 2020 MCDropDown image bug
FWIW, I've logged this as a bug with MadCap, too. Glad to know I'm not the only one. :) Follow-up -- this is still unresolved for me, after going back and forth with MadCap help. In short, they recommended a rebuild of the project -- no small task, as it's over 3,500 pages. After an iterative proce...

Flare 2020 MCDropDown image bug
I'm evaluating Flare 2020 before the rest of our small dev team updates from 2019, and have encountered a bug that seems to be integral to this version. For the DropDown image icon (class MCDropDown_Image_Icon ) I believe that a link to a transparent image in the dropdown is pointing to the wrong pl...

Re: Search results page header
I resolved this by opening the target file, going to the Advanced tab, scrolling far down and changing the Master page. As a new user, I'm not sure if this is the best practice -- if so, it was not at all intuitive and took me hours to figure out.

Re: Search results page header
Is there an answer for this? I'm in a similar situation: I've created a child project, and am looking to use a different skin with the search results page. But despite having created a new search results skin and inserted its proxy into a new topic page, I don't see any change. I've even tried delet...
