Re: release documentations with Git via Flare?
Hi Tobias, your post is quite old now but I opened it because I'm also new to Git and exploring workflows to use. I'm sure you found an answer to your question in the end! But in case of the slim possibility that continuing this conversation helps someone else who's new to git, I want to add some in...

Re: Integration with Gen AI
Have you heard of MadBot? See: https://www.improvementsoft.com/docs/in ... bot-plugin
You need an OpenAI or Groq account to use it. (I am planning to try MadBot out as soon as I resolve an issue I'm having with my OpenAI login.)

Re: Pinned Items - Styles, Variables, Etc.
I came across your post in a search result when I was looking for a description of those files. Until today I hadn't seen them before... A few days ago my dev team migrated my Flare repo from TFS-bound version control to an Azure Git repo. This had been on my list of things to do for ages, and I am ...

Re: PDF not using my page layout
Well... I feel sheepish. I was looking at a legacy PDF target file instead of its newer counterpart. I just needed to finish an archiving job that I'd started last week and remove those legacy target files. There is nothing wrong with the live targets or the TOCs. (I've been struggling with insomnia...

Re: PDF not using my page layout
Hi, thanks for your reply. However, I checked whether the TOC items (for the PDF outputs in question) specified a page layout, but they don't. They don't have breaks specified or page layouts. There must be a place elsewhere in my project that's controlling the page layout and stylesheet for PDF tar...

Re: PDF not using my page layout
I'm afraid I can't answer the original question, but I too have discovered a surprise issue with some page layouts. My discovery was that the PDF targets for Product X had a legacy page layout and stylesheet set in the target's properties, but those settings are being ignored by Flare and, instead, ...

Re: Azure DevOps Git repo credentials stored in Flare?
@tmpaton I don't know if this will create new problems for you rather than solve your existing one, but by coincidence, earlier today I read a blog about SourceTree for Flare and Git. The tech author who wrote the blog explains that they couldn't get SourceTree to work, so they ended up using Git Ba...

Re: Stylesheet links in <head> output in wrong order since 2
Update: I've had confirmation from MadCap Support that from v2022, Flare treats CSS precedence differently than in earlier versions. Here's what was confirmed: The precedence has changed to prioritize the local stylesheets associated with template pages over the primary stylesheets set in the Target...

Re: Topics and folders not linked when dragged into TOC Edit
I feel terrible that I forgot to reply to this! The answer was that folders won't be linked nor the items in them - but you can set the view in the Contents panel to show a second pane which lists the files in whatever folder you select in the left-hand pane. And this is what you need to do if you w...

Stylesheet links in <head> output in wrong order since 2022
Context: I recently upgraded from 2017r3 to 2022 and today performed the first build of the primary target - a HTML5 target (a help docs site). I then copied the output folder to a localhost folder and viewed the localhost in my browser. That's how I test the output before I publish it. Problem: So,...

Topics and folders not linked when dragged into TOC Editor
Hi, I've searched for hours on the forums for a clue as to what I've done wrong, and having had no luck, am creating a new topic. I use 2017r3 to author an Online Help. Recently, I completed a major update to the user documentation. This required moving some parent-level topics into another parent-l...
