Json Structure
My developers give me a Json file where Source is the English and Value is for the translation.
When I apply a filter, I select only the Source to translate.
Is there a way to export the translation into the Value line?

Re: Translations keep getting lost
We have the same problem. To make matters worse, the machine translation in the bottom pain is only there for a second and disappears.

Re: Does MT overwrite TM?
It's not "supposed" to overwrite. However, we've found the fix it to run the TM over the individual file again. MadCap assured me only non-translated segments go to the Machine Translator. Not true. You cannot run MT over an individual file like you can TM. I have made a feature request fo...

Re: Segmentation Rules to isolate bold text?
Found out how, but it was a dumb request. Nouns aren't always used in the same place in a sentence in other languages.

Re: How to confirm all segments in many files
Depends on why you want to confirm. If it's to add it to TM, select all files in the left window, right-click and click Upload Selected.

Re: Edit/remove source segment in Lingo project
No, you can't delete a source segment (unless it's some arcane way I haven't seen).
If you can't join a segment, I believe that's not in the same paragraph.

My reviewers have Lingo installed and can open Lingo files. But the preview pane doesn't open, the icon doesn't even show. Do you have to have Flare installed?

UI accurately in MT
I have individual strings in translation memory as individual segments. We're translating User Manuals and need the UI terms accurately reflected in the Machine Translation of the manuals. Without a Glossary, how do we do this? Term base is too manual. I tried breaking the bolded UI terms out using ...

Translations not "Sticking" in the segment
This is SO frustrating. I translated with memory and machine. Half of the translations that had been in the segments disappear. You can put the cursor in the segment and arrow down and the TM segments will fill. The DeepL translations for the other segments is down below and can be entered by double...

Sending for Machine Translation
If you have some translated segments (from translation memory) and then machine translate, does Lingo send out ONLY the empty segments or does it send all. And for MS Translate and MyMemory, does it count segments it doesn't render or just the ones it translates?

Re: Conditional filters to prevent translation spoils the ou
It has to do with syntax, where parts of speech should fall. We've experimented with using a segment rule to break out bold text (our UI terms are in bold), but I don't think this is going to work as well as we hoped. What Lingo needs is the ability to send a glossary or to apply a glossary on retur...

Re: Some files not shown Lingo when updating project from Fl
We found this happening and have two possible fixes. 1. Delete the liprjdb3 file in the folder that the Lingo folder is in. This is not a danger because Lingo will recreate it when it opens. This often works except when it doesn't. Then, 2. Review the missing files to see if they have some verboten ...

Re: Termbase vs Translation Memory in Machine Translation
And... we have since learned more and my previous answer was wrong. Translation Memory gets applied when activated. If your source segments match the Translation Memory, it will return in the translated segment. If you have it set for lower than 100%, it will drop any fuzzy matches in the window bel...

Segmentation Rules to isolate bold text?
Is there any way to create a segmentation rule that breaks out bold text? We want our UI terms broken out to their own segment to apply the TM consistently.

Re: 99% matches
As I understand it, 99% match says "almost certainly correct but check it in anyway."
100% match is a confirmed 99% segment.
101% means this segment is 100% match and so are the segments around it.
Did you confirm your 99%?

Re: Termbase vs Translation Memory in Machine Translation
A Translation Memory is a list of phrases and its translations. If the entire phrase matches, it will be used to translate. Partial matches don't return. A Termbase is a list of terms and words with the translation. It should populate the term from the termbase during the machine translation, be we'...
