Re: Colors Wrong
Check the stylesheet medium that is used for the PDF to be sure that you're using the right blue there. I wouldn't be surprised if you're viewing things in the XML Editor using the online medium but the PDF medium isn't the same. Something I've found really useful to prevent that kind of discrepanc...

Colors Wrong
I have numbered parts of a machine in overview pictures. The numbers are explained in a legend table. The background of the numbers in the picture and the column in the legend table is identical (blue). However, in the PDF build, the blue is different. The blue in the picture numbering is okay, but ...

Re: Setting table width, margin
I solved it meanwhile:
table
{
width: 87%; /* still need to calculate the correct percentage, but this works well */
margin-left: 20mm;
float: right;
}

Setting table width, margin
Hi folks, I am creating the layout rules for our print output. The autonumbered headings have a padding-left of 20 mm. To align with the headings, the <p> has a 20 mm margin-left. However, I am not able to give the tables a margin-left of 20 mm. Unfortunately, I am a bit stuck with the table styles....

Re: Autonumbers style
Now that I understand what you want, I've realised I actually do use a format very similar to that for one of my heading styles. Here's what I came up with: h1 { margin: 6pt 0 18pt -72pt; } h1.autonumber { padding-left: 72pt; mc-auto-number-format: 'GH:{n+}. '; mc-auto-number-position: outside-head...

Re: Autonumbers style
You probably won't like this answer, but generally I play around with the margins and padding until it looks about right... Is that image what you have right now, or is it what you want to achieve? Hooray, I have tried padding, but to no avail. The image is what we want to achieve, but it seems it ...

Capture & Multiple Displays
Hi everyone, I noticed today that Capture doesn't seem to support work environments with multiple displays. I have two displays hooked up to the docking station for my laptop. The laptop is display 1, the two displays are display 2 and 3. The desktop is extended. If I want to capture a region on dis...

Hi,
how do you set the space between the autonumber and the heading text correctly in CSS? I have a left margin. The section numbers and symbols are in the left margin.

IATE termbase import
Hi folks, I have started down the rabbit hole of creating a company terminology. As a lot of our terms are found in EU (harmonised) standards, it makes more than just ample sense to use the IATE database https://iate.europa.eu/home , with the terms for the subject domains (in our case "industry...

Glossaries & Lingo
Hi,
is there any method to export glossaries from Flare to Lingo, and/ or vice versa? I need to introduce terminology management company-wide. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find anything helpful in MadCap's documentation for Flare and Lingo.

[quote="Psider"]Just insert the image in the snippet where you want to use it. If you're worried that it's going to create a copy of the image, it doesn't. It's just a link back to where the image lives. If I've misunderstood your concern, post back with some more information about what yo...

Re: Warning Messages
Ahh. Let me take a step back. :) Yes, you'll need styles for the text in your snippets. The snippet just lets you keep the text in a central spot for re-use. You should be able to set it all up in your main stylesheet using the Flare editor without needing to know much in the way of css or html. Th...

Thanks! Looking at the "Creating Divs and Other Tag Groups" chapter of the help documentation will surely keep me busy, at least for a few hours. ![Flare :flare:](./images/smilies/icon_flare.gif)

Re: Warning Messages
Thanks for the answer! I am a total newbie to CSS. I decided it'd be best to have safety notes and warning messages as block snippets and store them in a common/ global folder. But I probably will have to create a separate CSS style for them, as they must clearly stand out and be differentiated from...

Re: Architecture for Machinery
There are other alternatives you could consider, such as having just one mega project with absolutely everything in it! Or rather than having 9 or 10 projects, you could have your "Globals" project which contains all the shared resources and then just one project per machinery type, and y...

Warning Messages
Hi folks, as we manufacture machinery, our handbooks must have warning messages and safety notes that are compliant with ANSI 535.6 and EN 82079-1, ISO 3864 etc. As such, we require a symbol, and the correct text. DITA has the hazard statement element, for example: <hazardstatement type="warnin...

Architecture for Machinery
Hi folks, we are using MadCap AMS for our technical documentation. We make food-processing machinery. There are 3 types of machines (plus a minor type, a sharpener for disc knives). In the future, there will be new machines, and variants. Each machine requires a long user handbook for the customer,...
