Re: Add Button in HTML5; click to URL

Answered part of my own question ... Looks like the click needs a bit of java script ... I entered window.location.href = 'url'; And the button works. If there are alternatives, please let me know. Still would like to know how to set the UI Text to go with the buttons. Any thoughts? Regards, Bruce

Add Button in HTML5; click to URL

Simple question for the HTML5 Skin!! I've created two buttons that I want to go to a URL when clicked. I add the button and the URL to the click location in the properties and the button does not work. Is there any information about what to put into the Click property to go to a URL using an HTML 5 ...

Re: Table Style col width different in Word and PDF

Hi, I have not confirmed yet if this has been fixed in 8.0 I regret to report that the behavior you describe--where column widths defined a a percent of the table width are not respected in the Word output from Flare--is due to a bug in Flare. I have submitted a bug report on your behalf (#46165) wi...

Re: Project Documentation in Flare?

Here are some quick hints regarding relationship tables (at least things I was surprised to find): 1) A project can have many relationship tables ... so make sure that a single table focuses on a single type of relationship 2) I ended up using simple two or three column tables (from, to, other relat...

Re: Project Documentation in Flare?

I have taken a look at DSDM Atern from a documentation point of view and it does fit nicely in Flare. Documents can be produced if necessary (PDF or Word) or they just end up as sections on the TOC. (with a number of common snippets underneath) ... in webhelp or CHM. I have been working with an orga...

Project Documentation in Flare?

Hi, I have been using Flare for my own product development work to manage all product development documentation (plans, specifications, designs, etc). I got tired of writing the same words in many documents. I have used Flare for Agile Development and Process Improvement projects. Recently, I have p...

Output EMF to printer.

I am using EMF images to output to the print Targets to retain high quality printing or PDF images. Given the EMF is scalable, the size is not important when printing; however, I'd like the picture to use the available space. In the Edit Picture, function there is a 'Size' and a 'Print Size'. The EM...

Table Style col width different in Word and PDF

I have a TOC setup for printing a portion of a WebHelp project. I am using two PageLayouts ... one is portrait and one is landscape. In the topics I use 3 TableStyles where columns have % col widths. The table styles all keep the % widths when the target is a PDF. When the Target is Word, the % widt...

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file

Hi,

I understand 'network share'. This approach is definitely better than installing all htm files on every PC. I seem to recall that Help3 may have been able to get files from a web server.

I guess I stick to a CHM until a better solution comes along!!!

Many thanks,
Bruce

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file

Re: DotNetHelp? The DotNetHelp has a single, standalone viewer like CHM, but multiple files like WebHelp. And unlike CHM, it can be viewed over a network. And like CHM it needs a dedicated viewer -- it's just that CHM's viewer is installed with Windows and DotNetHelp's viewer has to be downloaded by...

Hi, The knowledge base solution worked fine!!!!! Wish I'd seen this earlier!!! I need to rebuild a few more help systems that mirror the WebHelp systems. FileName ... Image with lots of numbers

Hi,

I don't seem to be able to change the default capture file name used by Capture. I've looked at the Profiles and other information..

The default is like:

Image123456789123456789.... and a lot more ...

How do I reset the numbers or change the default save file name?

Hi,

Glad to see this topic being discussed ... I see large memory usage ... I thought it might be Analyzer ... I think Analyzer also uses SQL Server which tends to bring in a lot of extra stuff too.. I can tell when Analyzer is scanning ...

Re: Link to amazon book reference?

Hi Greg,

Many thanks ... I think I've answered my own question ...

To be XHTML compatible I need to replace the "&" with "&"

So the 'ampersand' must be an 'XHTML compliant ampersand".

Link to amazon book reference?

Hi, Has anyone linked to an Amazon book reference from a webhelp project? For some reason, the Amazon HTML is not XHTML compliant ... and I'm not sure how to make it compliant. Re: 'Advanced' folder

Hi, The '/Advanced' folder was created by Flare 6 along with a '/Basic' folder. I was not sure what they meant and how they worked. I now see that the Index.htm file determines whether the browser is advanced or basic. The normal top level folders are also included in the output. I guess my question...

Re: 'Advanced' folder

Hi,

I have similar problems. I've experienced problems after renaming folders, changing styles, and a strange database error causing 3 broken links. These have all been reported.

(all at the time I'm doing a major update to a help system).

Re: Compiling DotNetHelp into a single file

Hi, The idea of using DotNetHelp as a replacement for a CHM is the goal or vision ... where the local help for an application looks like the online help over the net. I find the big issue with number of files is due to the windows installer packages and the ability to do updates to software applicat...
