Convert Flare output to JavaHelp?
When I had RoboHelp, I generated JavaHelp for one of our products. Then our company was acquired and they only use Flare, which does not generate JavaHelp. Anyone else in this boat?
Do you know of a tool or process that will easily convert HTML or CHM to JavaHelp?
I hate the idea of manually ...

Word Target never completes build
A similar topic was posted 6 years ago, but their fix is not my fix. I'm attempting to generate a Word document of a small project. I've generated Word docs before, but none in v20. The message I get is the "saving word output" one--for the past 30+ minutes. The Output folder shows it is still ...

Find panel not repsonding to inpur from keyboard
This morning, I logged in, opened Flare and and wanted to search for a term in my project. I opened the Find and Replace Files panel, clicked in the Find box and attempted to type. No response. The cursor is there and blinking, but once I attempt to type, it goes away.
If I click the drop-down ...

Re: [Solved] Compiler Failed to Copy Temporary CHM File
For me, the fix was to remove the period (.) from the folder name. HTML5 and PDF didn't care about that, but the CHM didn't build until I removed the period.

Re: Target Build Fails When Project Resides On A Network
I found numerous "fixes" for this issue, but none of them worked for me. The project was in a subfolder with a period in the folder name, to keep the subfolder at the top of the parent folder. No problem generating HTML or PDF, but CHM Target didn't like that. After a few days of trying "What about ...

Interface: How do I reorganize/remove icons from the title bar?
Hi,
In the title bar of the Flare interface (above the ribbon on the left side) I sometimes accidentally click the Undo icon instead of the Save All icon. Usually, I catch myself doing it, but occasionally I'm trying to hurry and don't notice--until I see some missing text were I'm SURE I had text ...

Moving from CHM to server-installed HTML help
In case you haven't heard, CHMs are very old school. But so is my Dev team. I've been hinting for years, then asking, now begging "Can we please stop using CHM for in-product help?" When they think of HTML, they think "Internet" and many of our customers cannot browse the internet for security ...

Re: Title bar of HTML help - where to change?
I forget to update that page every darn time! Today I noticed that I can use variables, but my title bar needs to have productname productversion, but I haven't figured out how to add 2 variables in that box. Anyone know?
I made a new variable, pagelayoutvariables.chmtitlebar and that worked, so now ...

Re: Word: "Build failed: Generation of output can not be....
The way I got around that error message was to enable XML:
In Word, click File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > File Block Settings, then clear the check boxes for "Word 2003 and Plain XML documents."
