The Mad Quality plug-in does the job, not out of the box but with some custom rules. Matthias Sander was quite helpful
Highly recommendable for the price

Tools/plugins for Terminology checking
Hi, I`m using Flare to write technical documentation and currently manage our company terminology in an excel sheet. Can you recommend tools/plugins to check terminology in Flare? A blog article on the MadCap website suggested termXact, but this is only available starting from 10 users.. any recomme...

Re: Alter Hyphenation-Rules
this wbr element would require to define the breaks for every word again.
There already are German hyphenation rules in flare, but flare handles them the wrong way, and hyphenates words at the first possible point, not at the last possible point.

Alyready tried this.. it maybe works in English, but with long German words this leads to really ugly line breaks

Copy linked files into defined folder when building PDF target
Hi together, I`m writing machinery documentations with lots of 3rd party PDFs to be attached. Until now I included them all into one big PDF when building my PDF target. It would be easier to just link those 3rd party pdfs in my central operation manual PDF. When I copy the 3rd party PDFs into my pr...

PDF comparison in Acrobat stops with error message
Hi, I`m using Flare for PDF exclusively and have a problem with the PDF files that flare creates. When trying to compare two PDF files, Acrobat stops with an error message that would translate to somewhat like "array was expected". This only happes with PDF files created by flare and not w...

Re: Can`t get header/footer and body aligned
Hi Rob,
Thanks for your thoughts. I was able to solve the problems by adding values for "margin left" and "margin right" in the body tag. Had to fiddle around with arbitrary values, but I got things aligned with 4px each
Cheers

Can`t get header/footer and body aligned
Hi, I have a problem and hope that someone could help me with this. I modified a default page layout to create my own layout. But I can`t get the content of the header/footer and body frame aligned. The margins are the same for the frame and the styles used. There are no borders or paddings defined....

Hi Nita,
Thanks for your reply, yes I`m using autonumbering for my h1 to h4 headings. Your explanation sounds plausible.

Display chapter numbers in TOC editor
Hi,
is there a way to display chapter numbers in the TOC editor? (I mean the editor in the attached picture)
This would help greatly for creating print outputs
Kind Regards

cross reference to PDF in TOC/Project folder
Hello, in my documentation project I have to add some third party pdfs to my operation manual. I included them in the TOC, which works fine. Unfortunately it doesn`t seem to be possible to add a cross reference to a pdf file which is included in my project and TOC. Is there a way I can create a dyna...

Callout changing underlying image
Hello,
when I created a callout with Capture, is it possible to change the underlying image? I tried to just swap the image file (same file name, same image size), but then the callout seems to be broken
Kind regards

Copy/paste of objects to a certain location
Hi, I use Capture to create callout graphics. Every time I copy an object, e.g. an arrow and then right click --> paste at the desired location, the object is pasted randomly somewhere else in the image. This behaviour drives me mad. Is there a way to paste an object at a desired location? Kind Rega...

Thanks for your replies. I forgot to mention that we solely use PDF output
So there is no right or wrong whether I put my condition tags on the topic files or on the TOC entries

Best practice for applying condition tags to topics?
Hi together, I`m using condition tags to filter topics e.g. for internal/external content. It is possible to assign condition tags on individual topics in the content explorer, but it is also possible to assign condition tags to topics in the TOC. There won`t be a one-size-fits all solution, but I w...

Different image sizes, but same callout object sizes possible?
Hi, I`m using Flare and Capture for technical documentation and have the following issue: (I`m only using PDF output) When using callout images, I use three different image size styles in flare: full page width, half page width, third page width. When I create a palette with callout objects and use ...

Hi, i`m new to git and have the following problem: Currently I`m writing the operation manual for a specific machine type. Soon I will have to create operation manuals for other machines based on the first manual. Originally I intended to ...
