Re: image map link source, targeting a TOC item
... by "TOC folder item", I'm meaning the link target is to be a table of contents folder. Ok, I get the concept, but I'm still not clear on how you have your project set up. Are you navigating from a topic to your main TOC but you want it opened to a specific folder or book that shows a ...

Re: image map link source, targeting a TOC item
I don't think I'm following. You can add an image map to an image and point a hotspot to a topic in the project. Are you saying you're not able to do that, or are you asking how to do that, or is there something else you're trying to do that I'm just not getting? Hey there, Lisa. Yes, it's not quit...

image map link source, targeting a TOC item
I've already searched the forums, but can't seem to find anything about linking from a 'hot spot' (image map) on a graphic that will target/open a TOC folder item. Nuts I know, but it would be very slick for my technical support end users to click a spot on a product graphic in our parts catalog tha...

Re: Where did the table row numbers go?
When you click on a in the workspace table, at the top of the workspace there is are table and col icons that are used to manipulate the table objects. If I understand your question correctly, these are what you are looking for. Right click on them and you get a sub-menu of tools to manipulate the ...

Re: Where did the table row/column editing capability go?
Hi, all. In past versions I've really taken advantage of table manipulation/editing, selecting a table and right-clicking to edit/manipulate the table columns mostly. In the main table menu, in past revs, "Show Columns" had to be on to allow this (for me at least) feature to work. Now, app...

Re: text editor & wysiwyg use; not what it used to be..?
It seems like I've done this before, but not the order you do it in. That is, I have both views open but I make the change in the Internal Text Editor, save it in that view, then go to the WYSIWYG view and press F5 to refresh. I don't think you can make a change in the WYSIWYG editor while the Inte...

text editor & wysiwyg use; not what it used to be..?
I'm searching throughout the Flare forum for anyone else's topic re: how working with both editing tools can be problematic with Flare 7, to no avail. Anyway, I've been using the text editor with the wysiwyg on the same .htm file; saving in one tool before opening the same topic in the other, to tak...

Re: X-Edit setup could be improved for reviewers
Yesterday 7/28 I submitted everything required to install X-Edit, and I'm still waiting for that email to return. So, my humble two bits: provide a review tool download that's as easy to install & use as Adobe Reader, but with annotations capability that your reviewers will find intuitive and al...

Re: Flare v5 Popup Targets
Yes, this behavioral change from v4.2 is duly noted here also. The first thing I looked at was the styles.css editor, hoping to find the attribute to make these popups behave more like they once did. Would any of you Super-Wonky-PropHeads out there have anything to add...? I'm inclined to think it's...

Re: index.mcwebhelp in Flare 5
I upgraded to Flare 5 and my online help (WebHelp for Silverlight app) stopped working. It appears that there is a new file, index.mcwebhelp in the webhelp output that Microsoft doesn't like. From my engineer: We have a problem with the deployment of the online help. While looking at the problem, I...

Re: Picture position showing wrong in table
When insert a picture in a table and position it floating right - top (CTRL+ALT+B) it shows the picture below the cell. In Word2007, howver, it shows very well. Flare5_Image in table.png This is very irritating. Has someone an idea? The solution is pretty simple Wil, if you don't mind using the int...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
I know that I've said this before, but I'll say it again on this thread - and call me a whiner if you will... If MadCap is not going to provide a UI that allows the user to configure all aspects of the Skin, then they should provide an SDK for those of us who want to go beyond the basics. Is this a...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
The "Label" field for the Logo is not supported for the Logo style. Its not part of the property group. Ive submitted a bug that the Skin editor only display the supported properties for each style. Open the Skin to the styles tab. Click on the Logo style. On the right top, choose "A...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
This all begs an answer to a question, tho' (albeit rhetorical); why should the end user be relegated to be doing any of this investigative process? Is it really incumbent upon me to 'fix it in my source', or more logically wait until v.5 can cleanly build the ~1 GB of source that v.4.2 still can b...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
No, that's how I view it. You could try opening the skin file in Notepad and look at the tags listed and see if any of them have an empty property. Or if you have an old copy of the project (one created in v4.x), compare the old skin file with a skin file created in a new test project in v5 (compar...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
If it's related to a problem I reported before, then it was only the label and/or tooltip fields of the toolbar items. Hi, Lisa. Apparently not; I checked each ToolbarItem style, and each has (not set) as their set parameter. There is one style here however that I created a long while ago, and only...

Hi, Yes, as dg said, removing the " " from the label field fixed the problem for me. Hi, Sharon. It was Rob that pointed it out; not I. :) Now: have you globally found/replaced all instances of this issue in your project(s)? Finding a single instance of it in an Internal Text Editor sessi...

Re: Flare v5 - Preview failure...?
Daniel, When you get a chance, create a new skin, attach it to the target, then test the preview. Sharon's problem came about because there was a style that had " " for the label. Im wondering if you might have something similar causing the issue. Have a great weekend Hi, Rob. Which style...

So far I'm very happy with what I'm seeing today in Flare 5, however: has anyone encountered the "Failed to compile document: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error message when you right-click select the file (with ostensibly legal, well-formed XML structure), and ch...

Condition tagging coupled with output merging; anyone..?
At this time I'm hugely focused on producing a parts catalog as a new, separate project (a long ways to go yet; the initial product model pilot was a grand success). When this catalog is finished, each and every product model for a given model year with have its complete parts number and description...
