Weird Internal Compiler Error message
When compiling, I get the following message: Description: Name cannot begin with the '<' character, hexadecimal value 0x3C. Line 419, position 2. File: no info Without a file name, I cannot figure out which topic has the error. How do I find out which topic has this error. We have very few topics wi...

Re: Preview compiled topic - annoyance solved
For any an all who want to know... According to MadCap Tech Support our issue had to do with our style sheet importing itself, leading to a circular reference error. We applied the following fix to one project, and so far it appears to work. 1. Right-click on the .css file, go to Open With, and sele...

Re: Preview compiled topic - minor annoyance
We love the feature, too. But even when we close the topic...hell, the entire project, and open it again, we either get the progress bar "ad infinitum" or the error. I logged a defect.

Re: Preview compiled topic - minor annoyance
Okay, this is happening more and more. Even when Analyzer isn't running through its analysis, I can't preview topics. It's also starting to happen with my co-workers projects. At first, it seemed to be only topics with a lot of drop-downs, toggles, expanding text, etc. wouldn't preview. However, I j...

Re: Analyzer Lite
I want to turn this thing completely off. How do I do that - or can I? We have full Analyzer. Thanks.

Preview compiled topic - minor annoyance
Sometimes when I click Preview Compiled Topic, I get the error: "Failure to compile document. Object is currently in use elsewhere." Sometimes I can simply close the error, save the topic, then preview. Other times, I have to close the error and topic before I can reopen it and preview. So...

Re: Next version of Flare
Richard, you stated some time ago:
"Blaze is currently in an open Public beta, and many of those features will be in Flare." We were watching a demo and it indicated ALL of the features of Blaze are in Flare. Is that true?
Thanks,
kristin

Re: Auto-Number Format
All we do is define a style for one of the headings we don't use, e.g. h5. So our "default medium" (for HTML Help) shows one style and our "print medium" defines it as a different style. We apply h5 to the topic title and it appears as follows: HTML: Configuring the Silentall Pri...

Re: Auto-Number Format
Ah...I've been so chapter oriented I totally forgot to set the default numbering for the Appendix in the TOC properties! That was it. Thanks for the reminder.
BTW, we don't use a separate master for appendix. We just defined a style in the style sheet. It works!

Auto-Number Format
I'm adding an Appendix to my print doc and can't seem to get a letter to display as an alphabetical counter. For example, my chapters are defined as: CH:Chapter {chapnum}: Chapter 1: The big red dog I've got the following for the Appendix, so far: CH:Appendix {A}: but it keeps appearing as: Appendix...
