Re: How to get back to Original Image

Why don't you have a command to restore the original image, removing all the formatting, annotations, cropping etc. done inside Capture.

How to store the default font in a profile

I cannot find a way to add the default font, style, size and color that I want to use in a profile.
Every time I make a new annotation I have to replace the default font with my own selection.

How to get back to Original Image

I'm using Capture to add notations to images. But to my great surprise it alters my original image (adding the notations) on the disk. I don't have second chances to retake my images I thought adding the notations was done by some meta data (in the .props file added). Is it possible to revert to the...

Re: Font changes to bold unexpectedly

Wow just tried to make call outs with MadCap Capture 7 and MadCap Flare 2019, and the bug is still here !!!! Also noticed that the text looks bold when on the transparent background, making the background e.g. white seems to remove the boldness, but when comparing the fonts in Capture and Flare they...

Referencing topics in another PDF project

I have been asked to solve a specific issue that our sales force often encounter. What they want is to include a list of page/topic references in one PDF output, to another PDF output. Or in other words, they want a list in one PDF manual to include references in another PDF manual. E.g. "See T...

GIT and Imported Shared Project

For me it looks like the Flare developers do not use their own system with GIT integration. I have already submitted an error report about the constant re-formatting of the .gitignore file, to have the current Flare project paths in the top of the file. This makes GIT believe, that the .gitignore fi...

OK, but I hoped that one of your css-wizards could tell me how to format this.

I have now submitted a report.

Re: Hyphenation file usage

I know how to create the file, but it does not seem to use the hyphenations in the file? Actually I import the hyphenation file from a template project, could that be the problem? Typical case since I want to reuse my hyphenations in all my projects. What if I create multiple files? Where do I see t...

Hyphenation file usage

I created a Hyphenation file and added it to my project in the Project Organizer -> Advanced folder.

I can't see any changes in my PDF output after adding the file.

What do I then need to do ?

Where do I assign this hyphenation file to topics, skins, targets ?

Re: Equation numbers in PDF output

I believe that I once saw some advanced css where it actually could add a table or cells based on the input? Maybe it could generate two columns, like this: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | 1 + 1 = 2 | (Eqn 1-1) | -------...

Re: How to force the PDF to have a multiple-of-4 number of p

Just got this response from MadCap: The Flare application cannot natively add pages to conform to the divisible-by-4 rule in a way to automatically generate the correct blank pages per document. And a feature request has been made #82738. I have to say that I'm surprised this is not part of this pro...

Re: How to force the PDF to have a multiple-of-4 number of p

Any solution for this. This is very normal, actually standard for printed manuals done professionally.
So how do we add a back page, and a number of blank pages before that so that the PDF will have multiple-of-4 pages?

Re: How to define soft hypens

Can anyone tell me how to use hyphenation files?

I created a file .mchyph in the Project/Advanced folder, is that it ?

Do I need to specify the .mchyph to use with the target or skin ?

Anyway it does not work only having the file, so somehow I need to tell Flare to use it.

Re: Annotation Font Styles

Thanks for the try, I hope you got your coffee :-) Imagine that you want to have an image in Flare which need some text information included. I good old Word you would make some arrows and write some text boxes on top of the image. The result would be an image with some "embedded" test ann...

Annotation Font Styles

How do I tell Capture to use a text style that I defined in Flare for annotations?

The main reason for me to look at Capture is to ensure that the annotation text on images matches the font style used in my text.

Re: How to define soft hypens

OK, I think that I found the answer myself.

I use the Hyphenation Window and define a custom rule like "dynamics" -> "dy-na-mics".

Correct?

How to define soft hypens

When Flare 12 is doing automatic word hypernation it sometimes fails to do it right. Ex. In my text it wraps "dynamics" in the end of a centence as: bla bla blabla bla bla bla bla bla dyn- amics bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla I would like to write something like this in the editor: "...

LaTeX Equation including an &

I just submitted a bug report on the issue when using the & letter in a LaTeX equation, e.g. when creating matrices with multiple columns.
The workaround is to use MathML for these equations.

Re: Standards for capturing images for web and pdf output.

My biggest problem is multiple contributors capturing images (e.g. software dialogs) in different DPI. This renders very strangely in e.g. PDF files.

Re: How to sync TOC entries with topic headings?

Actually I think that there should be a checkmark in the target (or the topic properties) specifying that the TOC titles should automatically synchronize with the h1 headings in the topics. I understand that some need to have the two things separated, but in all our cases we want to have the same ti...
