Re: Unused Items report question

Thank you very much. I took your advice. It turned out that I had duplicates of many images without realizing it. I don't even know how this happened. So the 'unused' images were the images that were not being called from the topics, but they had duplicates elsewhere that were being called. I'm not ...

Re: Unused Items report question

Thank you for your suggestion. I did take a look at the links and did not see anything special about them. For example, I tried looking at the dates they were created, as I had moved my project at one point. So far I have not come up with the connecting thread that ties these images together, but I ...

Re: Unused Items report question

I found this post while searching the forums. I'm having the exact same problem. About 200 images that are being reported as unused are actually used. I would like to move some of these images into a different folder. They show up fine in the Flare UI and compiles, but because Flare is not ...

Re: Contributor VERY SLOW with SharePoint?

Good morning,

I have a related question for hoss. I'm also trying (for the first time) to publish WebHelp html5 to a SharePoint (2007) destination and am noticing the slowness. Can you please tell me what is meant by "the new options unchecked"? I'm not sure what you mean. BTW I'm using SharePoint ...

Re: Using SharePoint Search to crawl webhelp

That's great news! I am using Flare v8. I'll work with the person who set up SharePoint to add the help compile to the SharePoint content sources and go from there. This is an internal-use compile so no one should mind if output switches from WebHelp to HTML5.

Thanks very much!

Re: Using SharePoint Search to crawl webhelp

Good morning,

I found this post while searching the forums. I'm looking to do the same thing using SharePoint 2007. If you came across a good solution would you be willing to please post it so that I can try it out in SharePoint 2007?

Thank you,

Re: Clicking on TOC doesn't always open topic at top of page

Wow, thank you very much Dave! I was not aware of the nonscrolling option. I do use the Flare online help, so it should have hit me that I can always see the breadcrumbs in there. Usually I'm so focused on the content (trees) that I don't notice the presentation (forest).

Thanks again!

Re: Clicking on TOC doesn't always open topic at top of page

Thank you Dave,

I did not think it was possible but I wanted to make sure I was not missing anything. I just really like the breadcrumbs as a way of letting readers know exactly where they are. So it is a little disappointing that if they use the index, they will not automatically see their ...

Re: Clicking on TOC doesn't always open topic at top of page

Hello,

I had a very similar question and searches returned this topic. I use WebHelp output and have recently implemented Master Pages with breadcrumb proxies.

My question is whether or not you can insert index markers in such a way that clicking an Index entry in the Index frame of the WebHelp ...

Re: Sharing Skins Among Projects

Thank you Dave,

I think the Welcome topic is my best bet, for versions. We'll see how that works! I agree with you about keeping Master Page headers and footers small - and have been successful so far on that front!

I like your idea of the hidden file as well. I would not have thought of that ...

Sharing Skins Among Projects

Hello,

Having searched through the forums I've come across one or two references to sharing skins among projects using external resources.
How would this be done if at least two elements (possibly more) of the skin must change from project to project? Namely:

Caption (on the General tab)
Logo ...

I am having the same difficulty described above by livetoski. My variable, which is also a product name, is breaking across lines and being hyphenated. Has anyone discovered a solution for this one?

I came across this post in 2009 when I was struggling with the same issues as DocuWil. I had also made a request for the same enhancement. CMTucker,

Just wanted to ask whether you received any feedback from MadCap regarding WebHelp Plus on Windows 2008? I had WebHelp Plus working great on a 2003 server, now the server just been updated to 2008 and my Search function is not working. :(

Thanks,

Re: Indenting the Madcap.dropDownHead style, Printed medium

Thank you for your reply,

Looking at the html I noticed that the dropDownHotspot style falls closer to the text in the html code. So I tried indenting both styles for the Print medium, still with the same unsuccessful results.

Here are those two styles in the CSS under
@media Print
