I've tried specifying column widths (in %) and without. I've also tried to specify a row height (in px) that is larger than the images, that didn't help either.
The table has no conditions.
The images are pngs, created by another department, and I've resized them in Flare (using px). I ...

Images within tables not displaying in PDF output
Hi,
I've got a table of two rows and five columns. The first row contains five images, each in their own td. The second row contains some related text for these images. When I print the PDF output the images don't appear in the table.

Re: ToC stopped working in WebHelp Plus
Has the AutoMergeCache folder been created?
This should be alongside the AutoMerge folder. If it isn't there, just create a new folder and rename it AutoMergeCache, and refresh the help system.
That usually works for me.

Re: CSH links from UI don't work in Firefox - Webhelp/javascript
Do you mean using the "URL method of creating context-sensitive help" (as Flare's help calls it) - that the link is a basic URL call to the topic in the help system?
I am very wary of using hard-coded URL links from the product to the help - I am developing the help for a brand new product and ...

CSH links from UI don't work in Firefox - Webhelp/javascript
Hi,
We've got context-sensitive links from a web app to a Webhelp Plus help system deployed on a separate server, using the javascript method. The csh links work fine in IE6 and IE7, but using Firefox (3.0.19 and 3.6.3) the links go to the default topic of the help system, which is an indication ...

Re: Prob. w/ conditional text in heading
We've had problems with this too and couldn't fix it. The workaround is simple though - we just have two headings and conditionalise them out fully:
<h1 MadCap:conditions="Condition1">Heading For Online</h1>
<h1 MadCap:conditions="Condition2">Heading For Print</h1>
instead of <h1>Heading for ...

We've got this same problem, and we just can't get it to work! I'm using Flare 4.2.

Re: Top line padding in PDF output (change from 4.0 to 4.2)
Thanks all for your replies. I've tried a couple of things - tried to change margin-top to padding-top, and played around with the <body> tags padding-top to see if a minus value could be used to counter-act the margin-top. Obviously this created other problems so is not an option.

Hi,
I've browsed the forums for a solution for this problem, but haven't noticed a post like this (apologies if I'm chewing an old topic). I've got a problem that seems to have arisen from the Flare 4.0 to 4.2 upgrade, that I can't solve. This is regarding a direct-to-PDF output.

I'm also having this problem, although not nearly as much.
Mine got a bit better after I defragmented my computer. Also, I find that it happens more if I have many other windows and applications open.

DotNet Help vs WebHelp - which should we choose?
Hi,
I'm totally and utterly confused about the DotNet Help (mainly because I don't know much about .net applications).
When would you decide to use a DotNet Help, as opposed to a WebHelp, as a format of an online help for a .NET application? From all the posts in this forum it sounds like the ...

Thanks Ramon,

I'll try to reinstall .NET runtime and Flare 4.2. In the meantime, where can I find the relevant log file please?
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm having a recurring problem about Flare 4.2 crashing. Often this is related to copying and pasting text, sometimes when opening a topic for viewing, other times it crashes when I'm just in the middle of typing text.

Re: Managing source/version control? How're you doing it?
If the other writers need to make changes while the help source is checked out, they do so in a (manually created) copy and wait until the system is checked back in, at which point they check it out and fold in their changes. It's clunky but has worked for a year now.

The problem with using pixels/cm/inches for defining column widths is that it doesn't allow for automatic resizing of the table in the online output.
