For instance, I have in my project PNG image files for online output but Visio files or high-resolution BMPs for print output. Both sets reside in separate folders in the Resources\Images folder but I want to single source ...

It used to work, and if online help don't use Chapter/Section, how do I x-ref between chapters, images, ...?

I like the idea of a public list and having people vote for their favorites, but I doubt that MadCap's management is willing to do that.

Only include used resources
Everything you have in a subfolder of your Flare project is included in your final output-file.
It would be much more useful if only data actually used in the project is included in the output. If that was the case, my project would shrink from 32Gb to 8 due to a lot of original, large, obsolete or ...

A good handling of external data would propably also solve the problem, that ALL information in the resource-folder is attached to the output-file.
In a perfect world only resources, which is actually needed and used in the project should be included in the final output-file.

When I create outputs, I get two different values at my x-refs depending on which output target I select.
I expect a x-ref to have the same number as the object referenced. Eg: a x-ref Section 5-3 to refer to (tadaa) section ...

Why don't you publish the list? Maybe you could get a feeling of what is broadly needed, and what is a special or local request?
Maybe you could even avoid the same idea being requested twice or more..
