Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to create a cross reference in a topic, not to another topic in the project but to the glossary. I create HTML5 output, so the result should be that the glossary tab is opened in the resulting web output.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks,
Siska

Re: Where can you see the list of retrieved items?
Yeah, that's what I already tried. But no luck... It's just that every time I open this project and do a "get latest" Flare retrieves 3 or 4 items, but it goes too fast to see which ones. And when I check my local files after that, nothing has been changed. That's why I wanted to know if t...

Where can you see the list of retrieved items?
Hi all, I'm using Flare 9 and TFS as source control. Sometimes when I open a project and choose to get all latest versions, Flare quickly imports some files and then switches immediately to the main view, without allowing me to actually see which files he retrieved. Is there any way to see that list...

Re: Cursor jumping around in text - Flare 8
Aah, I'm glad that I came across this topic! I was beginning to think it was me :-) I'm having the exact same problems as you do, both the cursor jumping to the start of the line while typing (in a normal paragraph) and Flare losing focus all the time. And I still haven't found what's causing it. It...

Thanks all for your help.

Re: Favorite Flare 7 Features
No, it doesn't work even when the cursor is at the end of the line. I think I'll log a bug report with Madcap, maybe they can figure out what is going wrong.
Thanks anyway!

Re: Favorite Flare 7 Features
Nope, sorry. That just creates a new list item for me, no paragraph.
I must say that I'm using a Belgian AZERTY keyboard. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Re: Favorite Flare 7 Features
Ooooh, here's a goodie. There's now a keyboard shortcut for "Make Paragraph Item(s)" in a list item. It's Ctrl+; Oh, I really like this little gem! No more right-clicking to open the context menu and navigating halfway down to "Make Paragraph Item(s)." Thank you! Nita, how do yo...

Associate Reader with pdf preview instead of full Acrobat
Hi all, Not sure if this is the right spot for this question, but this board seemed the closest fit for my problem. I recently installed a full Adobe Acrobat, and since then the Preview as pdf function on a topic in Madcap Flare uses this to show a preview, instead of the much faster Adobe Reader (w...

Re: Binding? Importing? I'm confused.
This is brilliant! You don't want to know what trouble I've gone through to get projects locally and bound again after a branching or project move in TFS. Import from source control works like a charm! Just curious: in which version of Flare was this added? I can't seem to find it in the release not...

Re: Minimalistic output needed
Hmm, mobile output was worth a try, but alas...
It removes the javascript ref at the bottom but adds extra divs to the body and Madcap specific styles.
What is this MadCapBodyEnd.js actually doing? And where can I find any references to it so I can exclude it from the output?

Minimalistic output needed
I'm looking for the tricks to make my output as neat and clean as possible, because I want to use the (html) content of my output as input in a web cms. I found a lot already, but I'm still wondering how to lose: - as much of the MadCap:Xyz stuff in the html header as possible - the <script type=&qu...

Re: Flare and TFS 2010
Does anyone know how I can disable syncing the output files though? E.g. I have a webhelp output, which is always synced with the TFS as well, which is just unnecessary I think. Do you mean having the "Output" folder in TFS, next to Content and Project? That is indeed unnecessary. I'm ass...

Retrieve license key from installed Analyzer
I recently got a new pc at work, and I'm gradually transferring all my software from the old one to the new one. One problem though: I can't seem to find my MadCap Analyser license key anymore. It still runs on the old pc though. Is there a way to retrieve that license key from the old pc so I can a...

Re: TFS: how to let Flare know that a project is already bound?
Yep, that's how I got it to work as well: I simply removed all workspace mappings that pointed to that project, removed the mappings from the version.config file as well, unbound the project in Flare (if necessary), and then bound the project via Flare project properties again. That means that I can...

Re: TFS: how to let Flare know that a project is already bound?
Projects in TFS are also "cached" in a version.config file, typically stored in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Team Foundation . Try doing a search for that file and removing the project there as well, before rebinding the project to TFS again ...

TFS: how to let Flare know that a project is already bound?
I recently created a new project in Flare to replace some documentation that existed in Word before. I wanted to do the migration first, before binding the project to TFS (Team System 2008). When the project was finished, I bound it to TFS using Visual Studio - Source Control Explorer, which worked ...

How to change the default search operator from OR to AND
When you do a simple search in Webhelp output, all search terms you enter seem to be combined with the logical OR. Users can use AND, but they have to include the AND operator specifically in the query.
Is there a way to change the default operator to AND?

This VersionControl.config file was the culprit!
After I removed all obsolete mappings from it, moving the local files worked like a charm.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Sending Topics For Review (I can't get to work)
And what would be a even more ideal situation is that you get an indication of which topics have been reviewed. As a kind of approval cycle if you will. Right now I'm adding hidden(=condition which is excluded from any output) lines at the top of my topics, typing manually who reviewed what and when...

Ah right, it appartently does update cross references when building (in Webhelp too), it just doesn't update the cross-ref labels in the content editor.
A bit annoying, but a minor issue obviously

Update cross-references in all (or more than one) documents
Is there a way to use the "Update cross-references" tool over more than one document at a time?
Preferrably, it would also update all cross-references while building any output.

Re: How to move the local workspace of a project bound to TFS
That's the thing I tried in step 1...and it didn't help. I even went as far as removing all my local workspaces via Team Explorer, but no luck.
