Just checking ... presumably "just started happening" didn't coincide with a Flare upgrade?

Thanks Trent, this is really useful information.
*sigh* I will certainly add my name to the feature request.

Code Snippets and JSON - Alternatives?
Hi Guys I think it's generally agreed that the Code Snippet tool doesn't support JSON well (or at all, really). Not differentiating between key and value strings is the main defect IMO. Before MadCap introduced Code Snippets, I used a third-party web site where you could upload code and get back it ...

Not yet. Also, what happened to r1?
EDIT: Ignore that ... I think MadCap assume that the first release is r1.

OK, thanks for that. Doesn't seem to be anything that would affect what we're doing.!

HTML5 Security Vulnerabilities patched?
Does anyone here know what MadCap might be referring to when they say that "HTML5 Security Vulnerabilities [have been] patched" in Flare 2022 v2?

Thanks Nita/Dave
I have a project that's still in WebHelp only because the Dev team prefer the Index to Search (*shrugs*). So they won't be happy to learn that TriPane is also endangered!

Desupporting WebHelp?
I seem to remember reading somewhere that MadCap intends to desupport the WebHelp output. Is this correct? What does "desupport" mean in this context? Will it no longer be possible to generate it?
I know this is a user forum - I just wondered what others know or have heard.

Honestly Dave I think MadCap should be paying you a retainer.
I'll check this extension out. Thanks.

Determining the context ID with HTML5 Side Navigation skin
I have a problem and it's one of my own making. I inherited a Help system for an application where there was no agreed methodology for generating context-sensitive help IDs. The developers just assigned an ID to each screen of the application. To be fair, it's not completely arbitrary. Administratio...

Re: Closing an Expandable Section
Hi Dave Useful stuff as always. In what (may be) a related problem, I'm thinking of adding code that will automatically expand the first toggler in a topic when that topic opens. Can this be done, do you think? (Not asking you to code it - just want to get your take on whether it's possible before I...

A related question is "Are Dropdowns Accessible?"
I have no experience with accessibility and would be interested to hear what people think about drop downs and togglers in this regard.

Forum Administration
Apologies if this is obvious but whom should I contact, and how, about my membership of this forum?
I need to log in from a new location but my old email address has been discontinued so I can't reset my password. I could re-register but then I'd lose all my bookmarks (I'm assuming).
TIA
Paul

Re: Deleted files not getting removed in SVN
Hi TeSol We use Flare 2019 and SVN too. From time to time, Flare and SVN seem to get out of synch with each other. The good news is that SVN usually has the correct view of things, so if you have a way of looking at inside the repository (for example, with Tortoise's Repo Browser) I'd bet you'd find...

Re: Runtime Skins bootstrapping Content Styling?
Since my post and Dave's reply is getting some mentions I thought I'd quickly say how I got on. I got switching between skins/themed colours working fine on HTML5 Side Nav skins. I had trouble with HTML5 Tri-Pane skins as I found it harder to "get at" the right elements. I hope you know wh...

Navigation panel items in Tablet medium
I'm currently editing an HTML5 Side Navigation skin, and I notice that while the padding of Side Navigation Menu Items is editable in the Web medium, it isn't in the Tablet medium. Rather, the latter seem to be defaulting to some obscure MapCap "foundation.6.2.3" CSS stylesheet. Can anyone...

Runtime Skins bootstrapping Content Styling?
Runtime Skins is an established feature that allows the reader to switch skins on-the-fly in a deployed Help system. For example, from one colour scheme to another. I'm wondering if there's any way I can exploit (hack) this feature to change the colour scheme of the content too (e.g. H1 color, table...

Adjusting Opacity Keyframe
Is this just me, or is adjusting the opacity of a keyframe by using the slider a complete PITA? It seems impossible to set it to a specific value. The tooltip disappears when you move the slider, and there's no way to type in a percentage.
WTF?

Flare's requirement is 4.6, but I'm assuming upgrading to 4.7.2 won't be problematic? I need it for other software.

FURTHER UPDATE:
I reported this as a bug and now it's fixed in 2018 R2.
Not really sure those two things are connected but that's what I'm telling everyone anyway!
As always, thanks to the Forum and Dave in particular for the help.

Re: Custom ToC Icon HTML 5 skin
Hi Dave
I can't remember how I did it! That's why it's so embarrassing!
I suppose it's possible I hacked the skin file to produce the attached, but I think I'd remember that!?
Odd
