Embedded dynamic help on Mac
I can't seem to find a clear answer to this so I thought I'd check here: I'd like to integrate dynamic help into our app, and I need to know if the dynamic/embedded help (that opens in a pane next to the app window) can be implemented in a Mac application. It's written in C++, and on the Mac side we ...

I am creating documentation for our 'child' product, which will be offered for free with limited features. When a user searches WebHelp for a feature that does not exist in this child product, but does exist in our full-featured product, I would like to add a link to the full-features product "This ...

Solved. The ActionScript for the transport controls in Flash needed to be updated, with autoplay turned off.

Can't turn off Auto Play for SWF
I tried unchecking "Auto Play" in the Edit Multimedia options. The SWF still plays as soon as I open the Webhelp topic. I looked in the source code and I'm seeing "MadCap: Param_play="false"" in the object tag. Anyone know how to get this to stop playing? I need to wait for the user to click the ...

Sizing SWF Video
After I compile my Webhelp project, the SWF in one of my topics is resized so the content is too small to see. I have gone in to the Edit Multimedia dialog and set the size to the right px, but the video is still shrunk down when I open the topic after I compile. It's fine in the preview (see Ex1 vs ...

Removing Seach Highlighting
I've been asked to remove the highlighting of search queries in the result topics. I've tried changing the "span.SearchHighlight" styles without success. I need no background and no style change of the search words after running a search. Is there any way to do this?

Re: Using a filter as the default search option
From reviewing the doc and the lack of response, I assume the answer to this is 'no, the default search is always the comprehensive one.' But this begs the question: Is there any way to eliminate advanced topics from the default search function, but make them available in a filter (or some other way)?

Using a filter as the default search option
I've got a rather large project, and even with three filters the search results are too numerous and improperly ranked. Management has decided our current search results are not satisfactory. My proposal was to add new concept markers to the general topics and add a 'product basics' search filter ...

Integrating Specific Content from External HTML
I've just finished getting our WebHelp user manual online (finally - it was previously installed to the local machine only). Now that we've got online help, there is some redundancy between it our existing online knowledge base. So, I'd like to add a new "troubleshooting" section that links from my ...

Rename TOC "Table of Contents" in accordion
Hi All,
I have done this before, so I know it's possible, but can't for the life of me find it in the manual. How do I rename the "TOC" accordion button "Table of Contents." I don't see this anywhere in the skin editor.
Thanks,
Mark

Restore Overwritten Output?
I generated the Windows version of my printed documentation and then spent the next few days updating the table of contents and index to compensate for Flare's conversion errors (intermittent microscopic text etc.) and MS Word's repagination habit. It is a 2700 page document. Very frustrating. I ...

Link color in miniTOC
I've added a miniTOC proxy to my project, which works great, but I can't figure out how to change the color of the links in the output. They are black and I would like them to be blue. I've gone into the style sheet editor and changed the MadCap|miniTocProxy color with no results (although the ...

Re: Links in SWF not working with DotNet viewer
More info...
1. If I open the info box, then click in the Navigation Pane, then click the "rehearsal letters" link, it works.
2. If I click in the Navigation Pane, the "X" also works in the lower left corner of the info box (closes the box).

More Accessible Search
Right now our company is looking into ways to give users more direct access to Flare's Search function. Yes, users think the text box above the content window is there to search the entire manual. Then, some don't find the search button until they call Customer Support. Is there a way to place a ...
