Re: Help window shrinks when compiled on build server
Does anyone know if this issue has been fixed? I'm having the same problem in Flare 7.

Help buttons not opening help
I'm experiencing an issue where the help buttons suddenly stopped working in an application that I work on. Actually, they do work on SOME machines, but not on others. And the entire chm file can be opened from a Contents menu option without any issues.

Re: Capture 5.0 does not take Region captures as expected
You're right - it was the resolution that was causing the problem - which adds to the growing list of issues I've had with different types of software not working at certain resolutions with Windows 7. Capture seems to work at both 100% and 125%. Unfortunately, a 100% resolution is WAY too tiny on ...

Re: Capture 5.0 does not take Region captures as expected
Nope, I am not using a virtual machine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Capture and I still get the same results. Plus, I discovered that the same kind of thing happens when I try any other type of capture as well (window, UI element, etc). To make the problem even more baffling, I asked my ...

Re: Capture 5.0 does not take Region captures as expected
I tried rebooting the machine and checking that the latest updates (including .net ones) were installed, but Capture still won't take the Region screenshots correctly. Is it possible that I'm taking the shots horribly wrong??? I focus on the part of the screen I want and I draw the red box around it ...

Capture 5.0 does not take Region captures as expected
I just downloaded Capture 5.0 and am trying to take screen captures on a Windows 7 machine. When I use the Region capture option, I get weird results. I line up the red crosshairs so that the area I want is selected and click OK. Capture takes a screenshot of a completely different area of the ...

Typing not working/ TrueType Font error
We are trying to record the workflow of a particular application page and it requires typing into several field boxes. When we try this in Automatic mode, we get an error that says Only TrueType Fonts are supported. We tried it in Manual Mode and do not receive this error, but then the movie does ...

Re: SharePoint and Flare compatibility?
It's interesting because this functionality used to work with 2.0 version of SharePoint. I don't know whether it was officially supported by Flare, but it worked nonetheless. I used to publish files to SharePoint without any problem - and I never had to go through the check-in process after ...

SharePoint and Flare compatibility?
I was wondering if there is anyone out there publishing webhelp and/or html help to SharePoint document libraries? I'm using the latest version of Flare and Sharepoint 3.0 and having trouble with the check in/check out functionality. I publish files to the SharePoint location and after that is done ...

Re: Cross-References sticking to the first topic title in PDF
FYI - I reported this problem to MadCap and this is their suggested work-around:
Open up the Stylesheet and go to the MadCap|Xref class, SEEh1_P Select Medium-Print Change the mc-format from: (see {b}{h1{/b} on page {b}{page}{/b})
To: (see {b}{title}{/b} on page {b}{page}{/b}) Click Save and ...

See Also link (concept link) style
Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to add a paragraph break to the See Also link style (MadCap:conceptLink)? Currently, when I place it at the end of a topic, it is too close to the content. I tried increasing the margin top/margin bottom settings, but that does not seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: context-sensitive help only works for initial topic
I am experiencing a similar issue. If I press F1 to open context-sensitive help, it works fine for the first topic. When I switch to a new screen and press F1, it reopens the help for the first topic. It won't budge from that topic unless I close the application.

Re: Bookmarks within snippets
I placed the bookmark right before the snippet - but am now running into another problem. I can create a link to the bookmark in the TOC but it keeps showing up as a broken bookmark - even though I have checked that it is set up correctly multiple times. Any idea why this might be happening?

Re: Bookmarks within snippets
I'm actually trying to link to a topic and then set up a bookmark for a snippet that is within the topic.

Does anyone know if it possible to create a bookmark within a snippet and then link to it from the TOC? When I try to do this, the bookmarks I created within snippets do not appear as available bookmarks.

Missing or Bad Snippets
When I move a topic that contains snippets to a content folder or to another TOC location, the snippets appear as "Missing or Bad Snippets." I was prompted to click Update Links on the Moving abcd.htm to 12345 dialog that appeared when I dragged and dropped topics.

Hmm this didn't seem to work for me. Any other suggestions? The only thing that seems to work is exporting to FrameMaker and adjusting the lists manually in there, which I would like to avoid.

Yes, kerning does apply to all characters. I'll give that a try. Thanks so much!
